Twin Creeks Golf Course
About
Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the Golf Club at Twin Creeks (named after the two creeks that run through the course) to integrate with five strategically placed lakes that come into play. For the most part, the fairways here are generous, rolling peacefully toward large, undulating greens. Hole 11 is one of the best, a 383-yard par 4 with trees lining the fairway and a difficult green guarded by several giant pecan trees. No. 17, a 409-yarder with water on the right, requires a monster drive to carry the full body of water. The best play is to aim left even though the approach will be a bit longer. Golf Digest has rated Twin Creeks as high as 10th for the "Best Public Course" in Texas.

My Humble Opinion
The front 9 were well maintained and the grounds had just the right combination of softness and give. My concern was on the back 9 were the grounds/fairways became harder and harder. I know we've had enough rain for the last several months, so I found this to be unusual. With that said, the greens were in excellent condition.
Nice course.
Staff was friendly, food was good, the course is in the decent shape, nice for a quick round.
Better than reputation
My wife and I played on Dec 1 and was good and we played again on next day. Courses were fun and specially we liked 16 17 and 18th holes. It is worth to play with below $35
Fun track good time
Enjoyable track with nice greens! Pace of play was great with no one being held up in front or behind our group Course was a little wet after the rain, but drained well. Good balance of challenges with trees, water, and sand, however fair tee boxes made it enjoyable for the different skill sets in our group.
Nice course. Slow Play.
Nice course for the price. Challenging greens, which were fast. Great layout and a fun time overall. Pace of play was ridiculous slow, but that might have been due to an earlier tournament.
Going downhill again
This course was turning the corner when the bank that owns it and the management company put some money into repairs and care. Have played several times recently and they either did away with the greens keeper or give him no budget. Most tee boxes and many green collars are taken over with crabgrass. The watering is mismanaged so there are always soggy spots in the fairways and around the greens. Weeds plus mud will mess with your short game. At one point they put sand in the bunkers where there was none. It's not maintained, so it's a hard crust with no depth, and you should plan on skulking it. Two weeks ago they had no afternoon because cart. Weekend rate of $51 is ten dollars more than well maintained courses nearby. On a positive note, you can get a tee time.
Great Value for the Money!
Always a challenge from any tee box. Pace of play is very good during the week. One of several courses in the area that are worth the trip!
Pleasantly Surprised
When first moving to this area a couple years ago a golfing buddy told me to avoid this course. After reading some reviews and seeing the recent comments I decided to finally give it a try and glad I did. The layout is phenomenal and it is a peaceful course to play. I thoroughly enjoyed my time so much that I went back two days later and played again. Each hole presents a new challenge but it's a very fair course. The only negative I have is some of the bunkers are not consistent. Overall I highly recommend giving this course a try, especially if you haven't played it in a couple years.
hot round
i played on an afternoon that got to 107. upon arrival the guy at the desk checked me in efficiently, but not very attentive. i stopped at thesnack bar and the two girls were great.
i played this course when it was new and vibrant, loved it. was sad to read that it had been struggling for so long. they are doing a good job with it, i would say it is at 90% of what it once was.
Needs Field Marshall!
Love playing at this course. Took a family member and buddy on Sunday for a 9:36am tee time. All three of us can golf well and it took 5 hours to play as the group of 4 in front of us sucked. No marshall's onsite made it hard to play as we would hit then wait 5-6 minutes in between each shot. We would get to the green and the group in front would still be on tee box and would not leave tee box till we were finishing our putting. THERE WAS NO GROUP IN FRONT OF THEM.
After all of that said, the course is great. will definitely play again, but I will be inquiring about field marshalls and calling the clubhouse if i get behind a group this slow again.
Great Twilight Round @ Twin Creeks
I have lived in the Twin Creeks neighborhood for about three years. I grew up a few miles away and remember fondly playing this course when it opened back in the 90's. When I moved into the neighborhood I was excited about having the course close to my house and anticipated that I would play all of the time.
Unfortunately, when I played three years ago for the first time after moving, the course was in bad shape. The greens were a mess and conditions were very subpar. It was also very expensive for the experience that I encountered.
I decided to give the course a try again last week for a quick twilight round, and I am happy to report that they have really made a comeback.
The experience was night and day better than my experience three years ago. The greens were much better and the course played very well. The rates have also come down significantly which was great to see. I am excited to see these changes and I will be coming here regularly now. This is a fun layout and now that conditions are improving it is a great value and experience.
Thank You GolfNow
Thanks to GolfNow I was able to play the course for $30 after tax and fees. I thought that was a great rate for Twin Creeks. We played from the white tees and that was a little short (5600yds), but the blue tees would have been too long (6200yds) for some players in my group. Over all, a fun day of golf on a nice course - especially for $30!
Solid course.
I play this course about twice a month. It is green and in great condition. Good layout. The big houses around the course are fun to look at. Especially hole 7 on the green. All in all. One of the better courses to play in the Plano Allen area.
Good
Green /course / Everything good !!
Sanded and Punched Greens - 7-9-2016
I missed the notation that Twin Creeks had sanded and aerated their greens. Some courses provide a notification but I did not see that. I is the reason I rated course conditions as poor.
A good experience...
Excellent greens, course overall in good condition.
Finished with Twin Creeks
I was happy with the course conditions but will say that the starter must have been in a really bad mood. He did not greet me, simply asked time and name. Now I was there about 10 minutes prior to my tee time and he told us to head down now and made me feel he was mad that we were late. What I have found is that the new company took over, improvements were made but only to the course. A lot of the same people who almost ran this place into the ground are still there. That is unacceptable to me.
I filled out a survey and now over a week has past and no one has answered me. So if you like good course conditions and do not mind being talked to like a child or someone not important, then this course is for you. However for me, there are too many other choices out there so I am finished with this place.
Decent Course - Quirky Approach
A beautiful day to play golf. Arrived with the other half of my twosome well ahead of tee-time. Overheard front desk staff informing the people a couple of groups ahead of us that they would be starting on hole ten. We checked in with no mention of this to us. Hit some range balls and putted on the practice green for awhile, then made our way to the first tee. Played the front nine, as we pulled up to the tenth hole, the "marshall" - Al Odom- attempted to give us a hard time. When learning that we had played the front nine first, he initially told us we had to go home. I stated we were never told that we had to play the back nine first, and that we intended to finish our round. "Mr" Odom radioed the front desk and told them that we were saying the front desk told us to play the front nine first. An obvious attempt by Odom to create trouble. We eventually were paired up with another twosome and completed our round. Apparently, the course plays the back nine first on the weekends. I found the layout to be challenging, but the course was surprisingly dry considering all of the rain over the last couple of weeks. Based upon my experience with Odom and the front desk staff, I would not recommend this course to a friend. With all the other better alternatives in the area, I doubt I will play here again.

I am taking back some of my comments about this. The survey did take a while to be answered but everything is better now... I will be back to this classic Palmer design.
