Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club
About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Nice course in good condition
The course is well maintained. The greens are fast and in good shape.
Great Course!
Course layout was great! Views were great during the fall season. Greens were very challenging and have great roll! Fairways were smooth and roughs were hilly. Overall great golf course, but pace of play was horrible. No starter on a Friday was crazyyy to me. I had a 10:58am tee time, didn’t tee off till 11:20 because we were backed up in the initial tee box. Took 35 minutes to get through hole 1.
Mu h better condition than years past
Green were smooth and fast-like glass.
Bunkers full with light, fluffy sand.
Fairways and teeboxes decent considering its mud December.
They've obviously done a lot of work to the course since new ownership (I think), new carts, etc.
Interesting track, good condition. 5+ hour round however-the foursome ahead of us was 2+ holes behind. If they need volunteer Marshall I'd be happy to sign up. They definitely need one!
For what it is, great value
The course still needs some TLC but it was pretty dang good for the middle of December at $50 a round. The greens were rolling well, even though they weren’t too hard. The rest of the course was pretty hard and compact but I guess that should be expected. The layout was what got me, it was the layout of a $100 plus course with $20 conditions pretty much. The greens and fairways both undulate in difficult ways and the grass can get grainy in areas. The bunkers are in really good condition and the tee to green was difficult to score on many holes. Overall, would recommend this course for people trying to challenge themselves with a layout.
Great Course
Ridgeview is a favorite!!!
Conditions are great, scene is peaceful, and the people are great.
Brian, Tucker and Kristin make it such an enjoyable experience. Definitely coming back!
Good course but needs work
The layout of Ridgeview Ranch is fun. There are a variety of holes with a few holes needing some creativity to score well. The pace of play was fine for a Wednesday afternoon. The greens were rolling well for the most part, just a little inconsistent on speed from one to the next.
I have played here a few times over the years, and just realized there is are no ball washers on the entire course nor on the carts. So, then you look for a water jug to get a towel wet so you can wash your ball, but there are no water jugs on the course. How does a golf course not have any ball washers, especially at $59 for a weekday?
Course condition is AMAZING
I was extremely impressed with how perfect the course is right now. Also, they have new carts that make it a very enjoyable round!
Picon
The golf course is one of those you enjoy at maximum.
I really enjoy playing every hole with unique characteristics and.
I highly recommend Ridgeview Ranch Golf Course
Slow
The course is in desperate need of a course marshal. The pace of play on a weekday was too slow. Multiple times there were 2-3 groups waiting on a tee box.
Nice Course
First time to play at this course. Nice fairways & solid greens. Snack bar ladies were super nice, good value for the money.
Much better conditions than previous visit.
The course was in extremely poor shape that last time I visited. I tried it again after hearing about course condition improvement. It was actually better than I expected. Would play it again. Only con is that pace of play was painful on the back nine. Had to wait long periods on every tee shot.
