Golfer Reviews
Slow pace of play
Took 3hrs to play nines. No Marshall to enforce pace. Pace was so slow group behind us caught up to us while group in front was on par 3 looking for their balls.
Nice enough but a bit run down
Generally this was a nice course with fairly well maintained fairways and greens. An open course so not too many lost balls. All 3 wheeler push carts were broken, they did not charge for them but I would have preferred ones where you could secure the bag. Good signage and everyone seemed happy to be playing there.
Horrible pace...
They stack tee times. It took 2 of us over 3 hours to play 9 holes. Horrible pace waiting 10-15 min to tee off every hole. Have a group of 4 behind us teeing off while we are on the fairway still waiting for the other group infront of us to get off the green so we could hit our second shots. Literally 3 different groups on every hole at the same time I've never seen such unorganized Kaos anywhere else.
Banty's Roost
I played for the first time in 25 years at Banty's Roost. A 27 hole layout with 3 nine hole courses. The pace of play was unbelievable, so quick, and surprisingly so few players on the course. I ended up playing 27 holes instead of 18 for the price of 18.
Conditions of course were good and yesterday I faced a great variety of weather conditions, isolated showers, gusty winds, and yes sunshine.
I would recommend anyone to play the course. Good value for your money, not too far to travel, and friendly staff.
Cheers
Doug
First Impressions
This was the first time anyone in our foursome had played this course. We agreed that it was an okay round while commenting that the condition of the greens was particularly good. The course has relatively few bunkers that seemed to rarely come into play. Also, water is not a dominant feature of the course. Instead of small ponds, more common are marshlands lining some fairways.
