Carlisle Golf and Country Club - North/East
About
Nestled in a small community just 10 minutes north of Burlington, Ontario, Carlisle Golf & Country Club offers a convenient and affordable golf. The club is open to the public but still offers the benefits of a private club with perfect conditions on all of the golf courses and a friendly, helpful staff.
The North Course is the longest of the three at 3,409 yards from the back tees. There is a fair amount of trees scattered throughout the golf course and the well manicured fairways are always in good condition.
The East Course is the shortest. At 3,179 yards from the back tees, Carlisle Golf & Country Club's East Course is not significantly shorter in length but it is easier than the other two courses. There are trees along the fairways and the manicured greens putt true. There are also several tee deck options to accommodate players of all skill levels.

Shaggy Greens
The course has some challenging holes, North 6-7 in particular. The tee boxes, fairways, and bunkers were in good shape. My only complaint are with the greens - it felt like I was putting on shaggy carpet. The front nine was played in 2.5 hours, but the back nine was completed much faster. I didn't see the course marshall at all, but I did see the beverage cart pass by 3-4 times.
Must play blue tees, too short from the white
A little pricey for a week day,but in good shape, lots of risk , reward holes. My overall rating is 7out of 10
Thanks for the feedback. Depending on your ability and how far you hit the ball the blue tees are a better test.
North/East Courses
For a first time playing here, the course was quite impressive. It challenges your 'full' game and you need to play smart golf.
Awesome! It is a shot makers course! Thanks for the feedback.
Great day of Golf!
Great course and well maintained.
I will go back!
Glad you enjoyed the round, thanks!
Well managed
Well managed as in the condition of the course and also managing the pace. Our threesome teed off at 7 am on a saturday with slower groups in front of us and finished the round in 3 1/2 hours. The marshalls were on top of things ...maybe too much at times but the end of the day...thanks for the great pace!!
Thanks for the feedback on the Marshalls.
Great Day at Carlisle
Pretty good little course, and decent pace. We enjoyed our day. Will play there again
Great value, challenging course
Got a great deal through Golf Now. Good length, not too long to walk. Some very interesting holes. Great layout for those with a left-to-right shot shape. Will definitely be going back!
Thanks!
Cart Cost
The value for playing this course is excellent, however charging $20.00 for a cart takes the value away and prices them no different then playing other course. A good example is the Royal Niagara you can paly that course for $45.00 cart included, and the course is far better then Carlisle. The only advantage is Carlisle is closer to play at. For the money I will drive the extra distance.
They need to include the cart with the price at Carlisle. Funny that they are both owned by the same people?
Overbooked
The day was long....way too many twosomes and threesomes which created a backlog on every tee.
The round took just over 5 hours!!!
We payed $75.00 to ride and we were realy disappointed with the wait on every hole.
Our apologies, I will send this feedback to Rob our Head Golf Professional.
Beware! Out for your money
We play this course regularly but this time one of our friends bailed on us and we told the pro shop attendant and they charged us for the extra person anyway. Beware! I won't be playing this course or any Kaneff course till they make this right.
Na
Over all it's nice course
Great Day
The course was in excellent condition and we played in less than 3.5 hours. greens were fast and true. Club pro made a point of asking how our day went. Would play here again.
Carlisle, A Great Choice
Never disappointed with Carlisle.
27 holes... always in great shape.
Early season round
Carlisle G & CC is both fair and challenging to most golfers. The course is forgiving of missed shots in certain areas, and yet challenges the more experienced golfer in other areas. It was first round of the year, as the maintenance crews were working to get the course up to speed. The greens needed to be rolled and cut, as they were a little furry, but again it's the first round of the year. All in all our foursome had a good day, the staff was friendly and accommodating with us. Play it if you get the opportunity... We certainly will.
Snow schmo...
We played Carlisle on Sun, was a nice day. Luckily I had a yellow ball in the bag, because there was still snow on the course under the trees, and just off the cart paths. Courae aas in good condition, considering what time of year it was.
The only reason I put poor for paceof play was the threesome in front of us. One, they were playing from the wrong tees and they were giving each other lessons on the tee block. Other than this it was a great day!!!!
Always a good game
All three nines are interesting and the course is kept in above average pay as you play condition. There are some hole conflicts between North and South. The staff are possibly the best around and can not do enough for you.
Very good for the occasional or new golfer. Not so much for the low handicapper.
Conditioning!
Nov.26th and 10C,a light breeze and nobody in front of us.Course in perfect shape without a leaf in sight. This place is a hidden gem especially for the time of year.
Cool Golf
Refusing to let the weather dictate when to golf, we played in the "heat of the day", teeing off at 11 a.m.
I appreciated the call from the course advising us of a potential frost delay.
The condition of the course was good for this time of year.
Only complaints: a few greens needed leaf blowing and the practice green was covered in geese droppings.
A great course for an average golfer
I'm not a great golfer, but I always enjoy Carlilse. It has its challenges, but it is very playable and is always in great shape.
Thanks, will pass this along to Joe our Superintendent.
