Played at Dragons Fire on Wednesday August 17th. The greens were tough to hold but overall it was a good day

You won’t find a more enjoyable round of golf anywhere in Ontario.

Considering the extremely hot dry summer, the course is well maintained and has everything you look for in a perfect day of golf.

Finally looked like Dragons has come to with the times and offered a reasonable priced tee off time $42-$52 last week. Well folks , that was last week, musta had over 50 golfers for a few days and lips started to taste blood, now rates are back jacked up and hot deals are $16-$26 more than a week ago?!?..completely done with the disaster. Pace of play was to be expected, about 4 1/2 hours with the usual waits on 2 & 3 tee blocks. However not horrible as all the other reviews. Fairways are hard as rocks , specified in many other reviews…I suggest move back a tee block cause the ball won’t run outta bounds for ya. 2 months with no rain, and ponds down 4-8 feet , not hard to see they have only enough water for greens and blocks. Every course In area has hard fairways and going brown out very soon if no rain. All staff are great with the exception of 1 in particular …(works fridays), and ask any staff member and they will ALL give you 1 answer on the name and attitude/demeanour. Great course, tough, but the pricing issues and ZERO multi-packs or “reasonable” offers on discounted multiple round golf is killing this course. The only reason to come to this course is to play golf on a tough track….if your looking for any sort of ammendities…it’s not far off Cam Isle for providing services…..pricing needs to be permantly adjusted to suit the services provided….too many awesome (more luxurious) courses within 15-20 min drive to justifiy playing here for more than the below average golfer to lose a dozen balls in 6hours. Dragons needs to hire actual “golf people” with some “actual” say in important bussiness decisions, it can’t survive as a declining liability opposed to a asset.

It took us 5 hours and 20 minutes to finish 18 holes. Have not played over 5 hours for 18 holes for a number of years.

Course was very dry, someone was leaving balls all over the course ( Marshall?) very annoying

Tee off areas were bare of grass and you could bounce a ball on fairways. Too many drunks out on a Sunday, cart girl needs to stop serving after a couple rounds.

The condition off the tee boxes and greens are pretty poor. For a round at that price I expected the course condition to be better. Also the hole placements were ridiculous on several holes - mid-slope, on a peak, a few feet from the front edge of the large 18th green… guys were joking they must’ve been done by a disgruntled employee!

Course was in the good shape. Amenities are limited - no club house, only patio. Washrooms can use some work.

The biggest issue is the pace of game on the weekend. There was no one to control and maintain the pace of the game. It took us 5 1/2 hours from the first tee to the last green - it was ridiculous!!!

Overall very nice track, needs a culb house/restaurant with a patio.

Tee boxes were embarrassing. Fairways were more brown than green and the first cut was asphalt hard. Way too pricey for such low budget conditions. Lots of other tremendous options in the area for the same or better price.

Played as a single. Joined another 3. They brought a beer of their own out of their bag. Ranger came by and made them dump it out. Understandable. These men were in their 60’s and realized this was wrong. They did purchase a few beers from the cart girl after. The problem was that the ranger came by every couple holes to check on them. He was very unfriendly. The threesome told him that they were sorry and that they would not drink their own beers anymore. The ranger still kinda hassled them on and off throughout the entire round. I found it very distracting. He could have handled the situation a little different.

Love the course and the staff. Tough track. But very disappointed with the greens this time around. Greens running very slow. To the point that you had to pretty much play through breaks and the ball wasn’t rolling true. Expected way better quality out of the greens here. On top of that, there was a Marshall who must have been bullied in school. I’m an obsessed golfer who respects all etiquette and rules. To much writing to put down the issue I had. But all I can say is I hope this guy was never a cop. Just itching to power trip and flex on people. Hope he learns how to talk to people.
