Great day
What a great day. All staff were very cordial. Course was great. Can't wait to play it again
duck problem
You need to rid most of the ducks, they mess up the course to much. Improvements could be made to the tee blocks,
Conestoga Worth the Drive
As part of an early summer visit in Southwestern Ontario I played this course on a weekday. While not very long by today's standards each hole offers an interesting challenge. Goose Run has many over hanging trees that require some considerations in your t-off shot. I would recommend using a fairway wood or even an hybrid from the tee box for the holes along the river near the Northeastern edge of the course. The Village has significant water hazards and some interesting bends for reaching the greens. The quality of the green surfaces would be rated superior and perhaps on the slow side to allow to be aggressive to score well. The Moors played within many beautiful houses backyards which can make you feel homey if you like to dream ( got a bit distracted by some loud music though ... ). Played all three 9 holes in a little over four hours, and had a nice lunch after the first 18. There were a few leafs that could be picked up on the Goose Run but beside this minor inconvenience that made finding balls that landed in the middle of the fairway on no 8 the overall maintenance seems more than adequate.
Thank you for your comments! We're glad you enjoyed your round at Conestoga. We agree that each 9 offers a different challenge and were inclined to believe that's what makes Conestoga interesting! We hope you come back to enjoy the course again soon.
Tight fairways small greens!
GreAt track. We went early season so greens we still pitted but rolled pretty well. It was right after a rain storm so the turf staff took the morning off bunkers needed some attention. I will be going back.
Slow Play
Not a bad coarse -- a lot of geezers so they really need to pick up the pace some used power carts .
Over all it is early in the year so will cut coarse some slak--- greens bumpy -- could not play out of sand traps --- second cut a little long.
This is a Golf North Coarse so they tend not to put much up keep into there coarses .
$28.00 walking is enough .
Staff where friendly in pro shop .
Early season conditions
For the early season (late March) the course was in not bad shape. There were some moist patches of fairway, but the greens were solid. Given that they had recently been aerated, and the grass may still be dormant, the greens were not bad, just terribly slow. I would think though that in another month, the course should be in good shape.
in good shape for november
greens were aerated and sanded but overall course was in good shape played the moors on the back 9 and it was very good
Quick Nine
Basically played 9 holes on my lunch; 70 minutes. Caught the couple ahead and they let me play threw. I was by myself and the course is in great shape and 70 minutes for 9 is glorious!
Course comments
Unable to find the starter for assistance re course choice. I had a problem with the brake and lock pedal which could reflect on the condition of a lot of these very old carts. I was very pleased to be able to play the Village course for the first time as it has been subject to flood conditions when I was here other times.
Goose/Moors
Course in great shape. Hit the fairways. Slow play due to he men hitting from the tips and four guys looking for errant balls.
conestoga golf course
Course in good shape but confusing layout. Need better indication of hole numbers.
It Takes a Village
Test of golf that follows the river. Very scenic. In the Niagara escarpment. Farms and village with specialty shopping.
All in all a great experience
The tee boxes need to be improved. But that's the norm for all golf north courses. Quick and true greens and the bunkers were in fairly good conditions compared to most area courses.
great value
Course was in decent shape.....could have use a couple more yardage markers.....none of the sprinklers were marked.
very tight
Not a bad course , very narrow fairways on Moors nine.
Overall nice day of golfing , played Moors & Goose.
Short but tricky
Have played here several times. It is a short course but can be very difficult if yo are not at your best. The course is in excellent shape especially the greens. Absolutely perfect. Well done to the grounds crew.
Enjoyable
Overall a great day, would play again in the future.
good bang for the buck
Course was in very good condition, and good pace off play
We are so happy you enjoyed your round! We agree that Conestoga has some of the best staff around. We hope you come back soon!
