Very Poor Shape
I would save your money for a different course. The entire thing is like golfing on concrete. Won't go back. It appears the City of Hamilton doesn't care about this course, which is a shame because the layout is great
Hoped for more...
Course was in in pretty rough shape, fairways were burnt, bunkers were not raked(hard impacted sand).Under construction on bridges.
Course neglected
In really poor shape. Too bad. It’s usually a nice course
Nice course.
I love the layout. But we need the City to put some money into the paths and bridges. I saw a lady hit her head on the cart roof when they hit an unexpected deep rut. Otherwise, a pretty nice place to golf
Great course but for cart paths
Understood that some upgrades are in process with bridge repairs but don’t understand why the existing cart paths after several years are broken pavement, pot holes, root lumps. They are rough to ride on and must be very hard on the electric carts.
4 Generations
This is the second time out in the past month where we had 4 generations playing together. (86, 66, 43 & 14 years of age). Staff was very pleasant. Course was okay, I have seen it much better. Needs more watering as the fairways were dry and half of them brown grass. There are a couple of bridges out, so it takes a bit to get around and trying not to interfere with golfers on adjacent holes teeing off. All in all, I grew up on this course and enjoy the length and layout. Pace of play very good, so no issues with limited Marshall’s. Will be back.
Perfect course for new players and those on a budget.
$77 with a cart...Decent deal. Average player on the course would be beginner 30+ handicap. Design is ok and we have had a dry summer which made conditions less than stellar. The course is not cared for well anymore and the bare minimum in terms of maintenance. This is a beginner or junior golf course perfect for those types or somewhere to play with your wife or girlfriend. Personally will never return but I play 40+ rounds per year and I am a 10 handicap.
Classic Martin Course
The Martin Course has been around for a long time ! and it's a very special course because of the escarpment which makes it more difficult than most people think !, I like the challenge because it's so hilly and the trees are very hard to manage and maneuver around and because of the sloping fairways the green's are hard to put .,but I love the course ! Peter Leone!
