Chedoke Civic Golf Course - Martin

I was very disappointed with this course. It was really unplayable. Aerated greens with sand on them .Bunkers were unplayable. The grass had not been cut and lost balls in the first cut. The cart paths and tee areas are a hazard. Pot holes all over the course . Wow I was really shocked on the condition. My playing partners said this was the worst course they ever played( condition wise). I think that says it all.

staff should warn the players of the weather conditions of play. Example, if the weather is going to be in high humid and touching around 40 degree C, staff, as a courtesy, should bring this to the notice of the players and suggest it may be good idea to rent a cart as opposed to encouraging that you can walk the course.some forethought such as above will get the course better rating.

The bunkers need work , but I did not catch them . The greens are nice , and the rough is perfectly cut . Last year I lost some 4 balls that landed on the fairway and vanished into the side . Love the back nine .

The layout is well designed. Course condition was good.

There needs to be more signage guiding golfers to next tee, and where carts should go when near the green.

The first tee needs a makeover. It is a bit harrowing to negotiate a cart down to this tee box.

The cart paths have places with wicked potholes and wash outs. Some places are even dangerous in my opinion.

More marshalling required. There were player bunch ups and also big gaps between groupings impacting pace of play. Being a municipal course requires even more assistance.

Greens were peppered with ball marks. Shame really.

Overall rating of 3 out of 5. Could easily be 4 star.

Course is fairly long, especially the front nine. Not recommended for new golfers. Lots of rolling hills and fairway is non exsistant on some holes. The layout is very odd and you end up crossing over other holes back and forth. No signs to point you in the right direction for some of the holes and it's a guessing game where you head next.

I really like Hamilton City Golf. Chedoke Martin is a very decent course for the price a middle class golfer can afford. But I must say the Tee boxes need some serious work. Please fix the tee boxes, the condition has worsened over the years. Chedoke needs better care than that.

With all the rain the course and greens are in great shape. We stayed at 8 am and finished in 3 hours. Wish more rounds were that fast. Great price for average golfer will enjoy

I enjoy coming out here, always a pleasant experience.

$20 per person for a cart = a little too expensive though.
