Cardinal Golf Club - West

I had a great time playing at a beautiful and well-managed golf course. When my friends come from abroad next time, I want to enjoy it with them.

Due to angry incident ahead of us, 3rd or 4th hole, we stalled for a long time while 2 Marshalls broke it up. Someone hit into the group in fornt of them and the ball collided with a guy's foot starting a fairway fued.

We waited every hole way too long. over 5 hours for 3 players.

Additionally, nobody disclosed "cartpath only" condition until we arrived at the 1st tee - otherwise we would not have played at all, knowing we had to walk on every hole AND we wasted money on a power cart.

Really bothered that my friends and I payed 60$ for a twilight round and ended up playing 9 holes by 9:30 and our tee time was pushed back was suppose to be 5:56 we where all ready to go and didn’t end up teeing off till 6:10 roughly.

Course was in decent shape, but pace of play was terrible. Waiting on every tee box, at one point we had 2 other groups on #6 tee. Not one marshall on the course the entire round to encourage people to pick up the pace.

Course is in good shape other than the greens are a bit slow. My main complaint was that we saw the beverage cart on the first hole and then didn’t see it again the rest of the round. Considering this was the hottest day of the year so far (30C and an air quality warning) and there are no water stations throughout the course, it would’ve been good to be able to buy something from the cart.

Shocking pace of play. Teed off 45 mins late, and was held up on every single hole.

Was there for first tee time and pro shop doors were locked as staff was late. Saw a few golfers trying to open door to check in as I did and I did not appreciate the fact the starters were standing at the hut watching this happen and not politely explain the pro shop was not yet open. Instead they chose to use phrases like “keep trying the door and it may open” while his partners laughed. Thought he was funny but I thought he was ignorant. I don’t bother saying anything because they have a long history of rudeness. Only pro shop staff was nice. Shame.

The west course is a relatively easy walk compared to the east course. It has broad fairways and is moderately challenging for the high handicapper. Good value for the money although a bit far for me.

Pace of play was horrendous. Not one marshal on the course speeding up the two very slow groups in front of us. Didn’t see a single cart guy/girl the entire round either. I’m a local guy and usually enjoy Cardinal but it seems to have gone downhill lately. I get it’s fall but some greens were full of leaves… Not worth $90+ imo.

This course used to be one of my favorite, but after Sunday, i was so disappointed how they maintained the course. Not worth it!

Teed off @ 1:40pm on a Tuesday. Front 9 almost took 3 hours! 3 groups waiting at each hole with no marshal in site. I quit after 9 .

The course is fine and has many good qualities. I have played this course twice in the last 3 weeks and the pace of play is beyond terrible. The starters are friendly however once you tee off you never see another person again. We had people who were clearly unaware of the etiquette of golf and a group of people that ran onto our fairway and picked up our golf balls - twice! (completely oblivious until we’re able to show them the balls they were playing were different colour and brand) The food service was dreadfully slow. Again where are the marshals? This course continues to decline under what must be new ownership.

I'm looking to get a refund for a golfer that didn't show up due to medical concerns three out of the four played. Getting contact information for golf now has been horrendous next to Impossible I would like a refund for the one person that did not play it was $130
