Oliver's Nest Golf and Country Club

About
Situated just west of Lindsey, Oliver's Nest Golf & Country Club is an idyllic escape that sprawls across rolling hills with the Mariposa Brook ambling through. The golf course opened in 1996 and despite being relatively young, Graham Cooke, a well known Canadian architect who designed the course, managed to incorporate the mature elms, oaks, and cedar trees that were already present in the wooded surroundings. Half of the holes on this challenging golf course are doglegs. The greens are fast and undulating and the rolling fairways are varied in size. The winding brook comes into play on several holes and there is also an abundance of strategically placed bunkers throughout. Oliver's Nest Golf & Country Club's signature hole is the par-3 seventh, whose green is protected by a pond in the front and trees in the back.

Fun
Golfed with Dad and bro and a member named Bob, little slow around 4 and a half hours but the course was great and Bob was a great guy. Will come again.
Hidden Gem
I'd thought that this course was rather flat and boring looking while driving along Hwy 7 and looking in, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. I found a great Hot Deal on Golf Now, decided to play it and discovered that it is a beautiful, mature course nestled in the rolling hills along the Mariposa Brook. Despite a torrential downpour an hour before my tee time the course dried up fairly quickly and the howling wind made for interesting shot selections. The club house isn't much and I didn't buy any food but are you going to socialize or play golf? I'll be playing this again soon.
Great Value
A little out of the way, but, great value as a hot deal! Course was in decent shape. I prefer faster greens, though...it was a Sunday afternoon, so a 4 hour round, as a twosome, was acceptable. I will be back!
great day
Excellent condition very well maintained
Wonderful pace for us seniors
Conveniently located
Never been disappointed here
For the time of year, course was in great shape. Lots of work done on traps last year, greens were a little hairy but running true.
great course
Played here many times, best condition Ive seen it in. Took 3.5hrs to play 18 course is challenging but not overly so. Will play again many times.
The xourse has great golf holes
Had not played Olivers nest in a long time but would go back in a minute.Great day course was in excellent
condition
wide open and forgiving
Fairways are wide water limited. very long Greens were as good as they could be for the end of October.
Staff all very friendly and helpful.
I'll go back next year when its warmer.
Thoroughly good enjoyable round A great way to end the season
Oliver's Nest
Very good value for the price paid through Golf Now. The course is in very good shape. The fairways and tee boxes are in very good shape. The round was fast at this time of year. Very nice scenery on this course.
Better than most Cottage tracks
Olie's is a great layout and the conditions have really improved since Golf North took over on a lease to own. Getting around in 2and a half hours is now a thing of the past on weekends. I definitely think it's the best in the Lindsay area
best shape I've seen it in a while
The course looked great...better than it has over the past couple of years. Greens were in very good shape (although it didn't help my putting).
Great price from Golfnow.
Course very good
Course was in very good shape for time of year. Good lay-out. Quite forgiving but still challenging. Hole number 10 is especially challenging. Excellent value for Money especially when booking through Golfnow.com. Membership rates are also very, very attractive. Friendly personnel in Proshop and Restaurant. Hopefully now that the course has been brought back to excellent condition money might be spent on further developing a Clubhouse. All in all a very enjoyable experience not withstanding our scores.
Kawartha Gem
This was our first time playing at Oliver's Nest but it won't be our last. We really enjoyed playing there.
The course was in great shape - kept very well. The greens are pretty tricky.
Had a great time.
Great lay out to use all your clubs
Really like the lay out
Glad to see that the sand traps have all been done
The only bad things was the tee off markers are too close together. Where you stand between them
A great layout and enjoyable
Course has returned to great condition. Sand traps are now back in condition and now making the course what it used to be.
Clubhouse etc are only fair but doesn't matter since course is excellent.
Good day of golf
Good value, will play again. Everything was in good shape.
Excellent test of golf skills
The new owners have done a wonderful job of returning Oliver's Nest to its original playing condition. Not overly long but a good test of all your golfing skills. The bunkers are actually a delight to play out of so don't despair if your ball runs into one. The greens have a LOT of contour but run true. The wind was up the day I played and it caused slightly errant shots to find some dicey spots (as it should if your game is awry!). Little if any water to contend with but the fescue is deep. A very enjoyable round of golf.
Golf Junkie
First time I have played this course in a couple of years and was thrilled in the course condition and how much it has improved since previous visits. We enjoyed it so much that we returned two days later for another round.
Some challenging homes but they could manage the course better
Some nice holes but the marshalling on the course took the enjoyment of playing it away
Very good condition - poor traps
Over all the course is in very good condition. Many traps are stony to the point of unplayable but the owners are working to improve this. Front 9 was a good pace of play but the back was slow.
