Traditional very enjoyable
Fanshawe’s Traditional course (1 of two 18 hole courses offered) was very enjoyable. Huge tree lined fairways, long par 3’s and quick greens made it fun to play. It was perhaps too challenging for the ladies as there is not much of a gap between tee choices, making the par 4’s & 5’s quite long for them.
We had a great day all in all and would recommend it again.
Great afternoon at Fanshawe
Hardly anyone else on the back nine - then a wee slow half way through the front.
Saturday golf
Course was in great shape and fun to play. Only fault was lack of golf carts. Had to walk the first nine . Was able to get a cart for the back nine
Continues to be good value in an established course.
Everything at the course was good. Pace of play was surprisingly good for a Friday afternoon especially since there are no course marshals or a starter. The cart girl could use a little help in trying to get to every group. The only annoying issue has nothing to do with the course, got at least 5 emails from Golfnow to do this review - not really necessary!
Would love to play course a lot more .
Cart pricing terrible. If your walking great no break on golf carts.
Good Value
Course was in acceptable condition (bunkers were in poor shape and greens were in good condition. Golfers need to respect the next player and repair ball marks and divots. Price was reasonable (booked through a golf app). Pace of play wasn't too bad (finished in just over 4 hours).
Fanshawe Traditional
My personal favorite of all the city courses, open on some holes to let the driver go, challenging on others to force smart play.
Best all around course from the city, prices are a little higher than Quarry and River Road, however the quality of the course and the layout make it somewhat worth it.
Very good all around course, marks off all the boxes needed for enjoyment.

Much better than I remembered
It had been a couple of years since I played this course but, I use to play it often. The staff was much friendlier and the bar car was actually working. The fairways were lush and the greens were green. No ranger so, we had to wait on some holes but, it was a great day! It'll move way up on the courses-to-play speed dial.
good course, great value
Course was in excellent condition, is a little on long side for average golfer and you have to be in condition to walk 18. We had another great day on the course.
