Thames Valley Golf Course - Hickory 9

Beautiful location definitely beginner friendly would recommend to a friend

Would not go back to this course. I was waiting behind 5 groups of 6 people each group that was the slowest moving round ive ever been apart of. No body cares about pace of play here at all. 30minute wait at each hole minimum

Played with my wife and two boys (9 and 11). They're all beginners and we had a great time.

I have played Hickory for years. It is very close to my home.

I have NEVER had such a slow game there.

I was alone , and a woman , so I can drive right after guys and take another shot to catch up.

But we were all still lined up at each hole.

I would have joined with the guys ahead or behind me , but no one offered.

Apparently, the duo 3 ahead of me were just learning the game ( or very poor players)

A little guy ahead of me bailed after the first hole.

So somehow there were way toooo many duos or solo players.

All this being said, in the end , I read the NY Times in my cart , in the shade, between holes and I still enjoyed my round as I always do at The Hickory 🤗

Decent little public course. Walkable, and in fine condition. Nothing fancy but plays like a classic small town course and really great bang for your buck especially if you just want a quick, easy and cheaper practice round

The course was in really good and play moved along pretty good.

I had never played the course that we played and it was in very good shape and had some challenging holes.

Just starting to play golf and this is a great beginner course.
