Turtle Creek Golf

About
Laid across rolling countryside atop the Niagara Escarpment, Turtle Creek Golf uses the natural undulations of the landscape to its full advantage. The hilly terrain combined with the rocky outcroppings scattered throughout add to the scenic nature of the golf course. The elevation of the terrain shifts between subtle and dramatic. For the most part, the layout is wide open but there are some trees to be wary of as well as some rough areas. Water plays a prominent role on the course, coming into play on 12 of the 18 holes. Turtle Creek's idyllic charm flows from the course to the clubhouse, which incorporates a stone building from 1835.

Maintain the pace of play
A tournament with golfers spread out over three groups ruined this experience for me. They were holding up multiple groups behind them by chatting, taking pictures and overall very slow play. At one point there were 6 groups waiting behind the tournament groups, with waits up to 25 mins before teeing off on a hole. Marshalls need to step in and hurry groups like that along. Very poor course management
Very slow pace
The pace of play was very slow and there were no marshals to speed up the pace. The greens were not well maintained.
Saturday
By the fourth hole, there were 3 groups waiting. They allowed a group of 12 to play together??????? Marshal would come by and wave. Way to slow
Lovely Setting
Courses are narrow, which I don't mind. Greens were too dry and therefore a little hard and fast. Interesting layouts but not alot of variety. Lovely mature spruce trees that enjoyed hiding my balls and harvesting mosquitos 🦟
Good value for money and neat design
I enjoyed the course, some tough Carrie’s, so unless you have a 200+ plus drive, some holes might be tough.
