Beechwood Golf & Social House
About
Beechwood Golf & Social House sprawls across gently rolling hills dotted with natural water features and trees, providing a terrain that is ideal for golf. The championship layout features fast, undulating greens and carefully contoured fairways. Ponds come into play throughout along with meandering creeks and streams. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers in play. Beechwood Golf & Social House's finishing hole is notable for both the scenery and challenges it offers. To begin the hole you need a precise drive between out-of-bounds on the left and a creek to the right that cuts into a landing area, and then you must make a skillful second shot to a triple-tiered green that slopes towards the creek's edge.

The course was in good shape considering all the rain we had the previous Saturday.
More difficult course than my own, it was a pleasure to play.
Beechwood Golf
This is not a course i would play in Niagara if it wasn't on for a hot deal. There are quite a few issues for a med-tier cost course that make other courses look like much better value.
The rough here is always painful.(They don't cut it) There are times you wont see where your ball is until you are right on-top of it. While other times you might get a good drive then not be able to find your ball a couple feet off the fairway. The condition of the rest of the course was average at best. A couple of the greens were being aerated. They don't use stake yardage marker here, only small yardage bricks in the ground and on many holes they are difficult or time consuming to search for. As far as the layout goes, there are a lot of hazards and well placed trees to make things a bit more difficult, especially on the back 9. Losing a bunch of balls here is a possibility.
There was no drinks cart, which seemed odd for a Sunday, when there was a lot of people on the course.
The staff are nice enough. I have played in tournaments here before and the service and food in the "old barn" style club house was very good.
Good conditioned course
It's been about 5 years since I played Beechwood and I must say I found it in very good condition.
They do not cut a primary rough so it's important to keep the ball in the fairway. The morning I played there was quite a heavy dew so this added to the difficulty of hitting it out of the rough.
Most of the courses I've played in the Niagara Region this summer have been in pretty good condition and I believe this can be attributed to the amount of rain we've had this summer.
This can become a top Niagara golf course
The greens are smooth and consistent and so many different hole designs makes is very interesting to play. But the rough is too thick leads to many ahead player delays trying to find their balls. Did not have to hit out of the bunkers but they looked very stiff. Some holes like 15 have very challenging trees and several holes we have to be very careful we can't see the fairways so we could hit players if hitting before the approval sound. My cart there would not go off when I stopped. So to improve this course and safety it needs better maintenance and remove some trees.
The course has some challenges
The staff is extremely friendly and courteous. Course is well maintained.
Would never pay full price to play here
Course was not in the greatest of shape. Front nine went well, then they let part of a tournament out in front of us for the back nine. 10 to 15 minute wait at every tee off from then on. Left a bitter taste for the course.
A course that has only gotten better over the years. Loved it when I was 15,16,17, & 18 and enjoy it even more now at 61.
One of my favourite courses in the Niagara region. Originally a nine hole course when I started the game of golf 45 years ago, it has re-invented itself into an enjoyable and challenging 18 hole pleasure to play at. You are pretty much guaranteed a good lie in any of the fairways and the greens are as fast as any course you've played. At Beechwood you can expect to experience everything you want at a topnotch golf course.
Excellent afternoon of golf
The course was in excellent shape. The greens were amazing with some difficult pin placements. The staff right from the off were truly amazing. the starter man was courtious and the course refreshment lady was amazing. I say that because I left my 7 iron at one of the greens and she hunted the course, asking everyone and eventually she found it and returned it to me. Now that is service. The 19th staff were also very good and myself and my friend will certainly return. Finally, this was a journey back in time for myself and playing partner as we played this course a long time ago, so long we could not remember exactly when during our 19th hole refreshments.. great job by all the Beechwood staff... GRF.
Good warm up course for Niagara tour
This course was a nice older layout with some fun holes. The greens were fine and rolled true. Fairways and Tee boxes could use some work but still playable and the bunkers a little sand. Not a long course so if your wedge game is on expect some birdies! Worth the price....if you get a hot deal. I would rate it more like 3.5 but didn't have that option.
The course was challenging and in great shape
The course was in good shape, cart paths were not the best, and would of limestone see the club house offer food and coffee before our tee time.
Friendly staff
From the pro shop to the starter to the cart girl the staff was very pleasant. Greens ran very true.
This course has nice greens
Beechwood is included in the Niagara Golf Trail group of courses to play, but isn't on the same level as far as quality or condition. It is easy to access locally and can be fun to play, but was not built, and is not maintained at the level of the other high end courses on the Trail. The greens were in excellent condition when we played, and are the best thing about this course. The sand traps are the worst feature of this course, as they are all just dirt, really. I think that the regular green fee rates are very high when compared to other local courses with better quality and more features. The hot deal did make it affordable and didn't make us feel that we were being taken advantage of. I would only recommend this course if a discount was available. The power carts are all new and were a pleasure to drive. There is no driving range.
Great Deal
It was a decent course and it was a lot of fun but we also just paid $25 dollars for 18 holes. I looked up how much it costs usually and its way over priced compared to the 5 star courses in the Niagara area! I would never pay full price for this course I will just wait for another Golf Now deal!!!!
This is one of my favourite courses in the Niagara Region for value.
This is one of my favourite courses in the Niagara Region for value. It is in above average condition, and has interesting holes. I am a mid-teens handicap and find this course just right.
Friendly service, great value, good condition.
Enjoyed our round, the pace of play was excellent, no holdups.
Greens were in great shape, and the course had virtually no standing water, in spite of recent heavy rain. Would recommend this course to anyone looking for an enjoyable round of golf.
this course was well maintained
had a feu day. The course was moderately challenging. We got lost a couple times because of directional signs were missing, for next tee box. Greens were fast and well maintained. We would play this course again
a good blue collar course
Tee to green is good, but the course needs some beautifying between tees. Greens were in fine shape, bunkers need attention.
Average course poor conditions
Course conditions where poor. Fairways and greens good. Sandtraps poor. Cart paths poor. restaurant service excellent and food good. Well priced.
Average
Average course. Fairly wide open. Nice clubhouse inside. Could use some updating outside with patio.
This course has some very interesting holes and you need all the clubs in your bag to play here.
The course was in good shape and they making some more change to upgrade the course.
