Beechwood Golf & Social House
About
Beechwood Golf & Social House sprawls across gently rolling hills dotted with natural water features and trees, providing a terrain that is ideal for golf. The championship layout features fast, undulating greens and carefully contoured fairways. Ponds come into play throughout along with meandering creeks and streams. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers in play. Beechwood Golf & Social House's finishing hole is notable for both the scenery and challenges it offers. To begin the hole you need a precise drive between out-of-bounds on the left and a creek to the right that cuts into a landing area, and then you must make a skillful second shot to a triple-tiered green that slopes towards the creek's edge.

great place to play Golf
As a first time member of Golf now I was pleasantly surprised how smooth the online booking went.
The course was in great shape.
I brought my 10 year old boy out for the first time on a large course like this and he too thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's a challenging course but not overwhelming to a beginner.
Good times @ Beechwood.
Not overly impressed
Not overly impressed with condition of course. Found out the "white" tees were now the ladies tees by an employee after teeing off one the third hole so changed to Blue tees after that but hole lengths seem to be the same from Blue tees as listed on card as the white tees. Just not overly impressed. Would play another course for same price rather than going back.
Worht the price we paid on Golf Now.
The Tees, fairways and greens were in great condition. Greens were very nice and challenging. Cart paths could use some work and a bit better signage from hole to hole could be improved. They need to change up their signage at the holes to be more reflective of the hole itself. They could attract more golfers but they need to stop thinking like a local course. Never did see a cart girl except in the distance.
Playing in the rain
We played 18 holes with a cart in the rain. Drainage of the course was good. The greens still played well considering it was raining. If you're looking for a good pace of play this is the place to go. The Marshall was always around making sure everyone was where they should be. The staff was average. Not the friendliest but definitely not rude. Overall, I would play it again and recommend it.
Well maintained course with several very challenging holes.
A good golf course with a number of holes where you can run up a big number in a hurry. Well maintained fairways and greens. Friendly staff and good food in the bar/restaurant. The only complaint would be with the traps which contain dirt as opposed to sand.
Course was great staff not so much.
I decided to reserve our round through golf advisor. Which then made me put down 11$ on my credit card which saved our spot, which i had no problem with. I figured when we got there we would split the cost 4 ways. So everyone paid the same amount but i would pay 11$ less. Because of the 11$ i put down. But the staff member took it upon himself to not take that 11$ into account and charged us all the same. I was not going to ask each guy i played with for 3.75 to make it even. That staff member should have realized there was a down payment. Because of this error i probably will not use golf advisor again. Dissapointed Dennis
Beechwood first time out
Course wasn't too too bad .fairways liked like they had suffered from the harsh winter .otherwise overall course was okay
Good value for course
The course was in good shape and requires some well placed tee shots to setup your second shot to the green. We played in just over 3 hours as the course wasn't busy on Sunday afternoon. It provides a challenge for all level of players based on the 5 tee blocks. I
This course is very good for the high hanicapped golfer
Thought this course was very good. While we only made a few mistakes going to the next hole, the course could have better signage.
Nice course. Could be better.
Everything is about average here. Thats not a bad thing, its about what I'd expect for a good golf experience. The good: layout is great, greens decent, killer burger at the turn. The bad: bunkers almost not playable, couldn't find anyone in the bar twice to buy food left without, course wet in parts. Not a bad value for the money and will play again. Not in the elite category but you won't be disappointed either. You'll enjoy your day here. Pace of play weekdays has been good.
Excellent time at Beechwood
Enjoyed myself at Beechwood. The greens were in excellent shape and fast. Fairways and tees were in great condition, however the bunkers were hard and lacking sand in some areas. Over all I had a great time playing this course and recommend it to those wanting a challenge and fun play. Long ball hitters will need to club down on some of the par 4s and grip it and rip on the par 5's.
Nice course, lousey bunkers.
My only complaint is about the bunkers. There is no sand in the bunkers. It was like playing out of concrete bunkers which can be quite frustrating. Otherwise the course was in pretty good condition. It's a good thing we got this round on a hot deal because if I were paying full rate then I would have complained at the pro shop about it.
average course
played from tips decent challenge, course still wet from recent spring weather, rough still quite long in places.
THIS COURSE IS A MUCH ESTABLISHED WITH SOME VERY TOUGH HOLES
this golfcourse fits my game well, there are some holes which are tougher then others but overall very enjoyable to play
Decent - Wet- not the courses fault, Slow
Played in late May, and because of the lousy winter and wet spring it was pretty wet. Considering that and that power carts were not restricted to cart paths, it was in decent shape.
Not the courses fault - but I was paired up with a two-some who were sharing a cart. It felt like every hole one of the two was left of the fairway and the other was right of the fairway (usually way right and a lost ball). Every hole they would drive to one side of the fairway, look for the ball and either find it or drop after about 2 mins. Once the first ball was found, the player who had not yet looked for their ball on the other side of fairway would sit in the cart and wait while the first player figured out a club and then played their shot. Both would then drive to the other side of fairway and repeat. Must have added minimum 45 mins to round. We had groups backed up all day behind us. Please everyone, play smarter and be more courteous when playing cart golf. Part of the issue was one of the two had a GPS app on phone and they seemed to both need exact yardage for every shot. Despite having this exact yardage, one player must have shot 115 or more.
Remarkably Tidy for First Round of the Yesr
Played 18 holes 4 days after the snow melted. Greens were in remarkably good condition and there was very little standing water. Will certainly play again this summer.
Not what it used to be
This course is one of my favourte layouts, lots of interesting holes, dog legs etc. This was my first time golfing there this year and i couldn't believe how poorly maintained the course was. The fairways were hard and weed infested, the rough was hard and full of bare dirt, the sand was as hard as cement. Very dissapointing for what had been one of my favourite courses.
The course was in good shape considering all the rain we had the previous Saturday.
More difficult course than my own, it was a pleasure to play.
Beechwood Golf
This is not a course i would play in Niagara if it wasn't on for a hot deal. There are quite a few issues for a med-tier cost course that make other courses look like much better value.
The rough here is always painful.(They don't cut it) There are times you wont see where your ball is until you are right on-top of it. While other times you might get a good drive then not be able to find your ball a couple feet off the fairway. The condition of the rest of the course was average at best. A couple of the greens were being aerated. They don't use stake yardage marker here, only small yardage bricks in the ground and on many holes they are difficult or time consuming to search for. As far as the layout goes, there are a lot of hazards and well placed trees to make things a bit more difficult, especially on the back 9. Losing a bunch of balls here is a possibility.
There was no drinks cart, which seemed odd for a Sunday, when there was a lot of people on the course.
The staff are nice enough. I have played in tournaments here before and the service and food in the "old barn" style club house was very good.
