Royal Niagara Golf Club - Escarpment Course
About
The Escarpment Course is one of three nine-hole courses at Royal Niagara Golf & Country Club. The course is so named for its layout, which begins at the base of the Niagara Escarpment and snakes upwards to the top of the wooded Escarpment; afterwards it goes back downhill to the clubhouse. The golf course has been built to championship standards with carefully sculpted fairways and cavernous bunkers. There are also undulating greens and water hazards coming into play throughout. The challenging round is complemented by the scenic views provided by Royal Niagara Golf & Country Club's idyllic location between the Escarpment, the Bruce Trail and the Welland Canal

Huge disappointment
I thought I would give this track another try and now I am 100% convinced that I will not play there again. 5.5 hours! three foursomes on many of our Par 4's and the Marshall came by just to chat!! The tees were do chew'd up that we had to go outside of the box to get a blade of grass. Pro shop and food counter look ready to go out of business! It looks terribly uncared for. With so many choices to golf in Niagara and at prices equal to RN, you would think that they would be in better shape on all fronts.
Good course.
Good course. Some maintenance issues but nothing to worry about, this will not spoil your game. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Worth a visit.
Pace of play
Nice course, good condition, challenging, several blind shots into green. Pace of play was horrendous. Longest 18 holes ever played(5+hrs)
Hidden Gem!!!!!!
Last couple years coarse was not maintained as well as it should have.
However this year!! Wow, I can't say enough great things about this coarse!!!,
From the clubhouse to the tee box the rough to the bunker ,the fairway, to the greens. Just all around well looked after course thank you for turning it around!!!!
Course has potential but is unkept
Layout provides potential for nice course, but the course was unkept. For example, lost several balls in high grass (frustrating!!!) and had to clear geese poop to be able to putt on several holes (disgusting!!!!!!!). We had a less than desirable experience.
Inconsistent
This was my 5th round this season at Royal Niagara and played Iron Bridge and Escarpment. Most of the greens and fairways are in good condition. On the other side, some of the tee blocks and roughs are in very poor shape.
they had an issue with Ironbridge today , so put over to escarpment,,, other than that top-notch well done groundskeepers .
