Royal Niagara Golf Club - Escarpment Course
About
The Escarpment Course is one of three nine-hole courses at Royal Niagara Golf & Country Club. The course is so named for its layout, which begins at the base of the Niagara Escarpment and snakes upwards to the top of the wooded Escarpment; afterwards it goes back downhill to the clubhouse. The golf course has been built to championship standards with carefully sculpted fairways and cavernous bunkers. There are also undulating greens and water hazards coming into play throughout. The challenging round is complemented by the scenic views provided by Royal Niagara Golf & Country Club's idyllic location between the Escarpment, the Bruce Trail and the Welland Canal

Great Conditions Great Value
Played RN many times … have never seen it in such great condition. Staff are incredibly friendly and service is excellent. Highly recommend.
Great Niagara Golf Course
I been playing this course for decades, and enjoy it. Unfortunately, it rained a lot the day before so it was cart path only.
Great MorningRound
Really enjoyed my first round at Royal Niagara. The course was in great shape and there was a real variety of difficulty within the two (of 3 nines) tracks. We played Escarpment and Old Canal. We were supposed to play Iron Bridge on the back, but there was a huge group on the first tee and the Marshall quickly, and thankfully, moved us to the next nine. The only thing that wasn’t great was the tedious electronic waiver form which could be improved. Staff was great and I’ll definitely be going back again.
good course
We played in under 3 hrs with a 15 min rain stoppage. Signage could be better where paths split.
Course is dead. They have priced it too high. It is a $50 course not more.
Terrible pace
3 1/2 hours from nine made the turn to hole 10 and we were the fourth to t off. Unbelievable, called the pro shop and they said they would send someone out well too late, never seen a marshal up to my call. Called back to the pro shop asked for a comped round and they hung up on me. Never again. Callled golf now and I have an ongoing case # with them. Poor, book elsewhere and save yourself a huge headache.
Horrible pace
31/2 hours front nine nine, made the turn to 10 and we were four deep on the tee box no marshalling anywhere until I called and they sent someone to do what? Way too late to do anything. Asked for a rain check because of pace of play and got hung
Up on .. unbelievable. Called golf now and I am now holding a case # waiting for a response. Been a member of GN for many years and this was by far the longest round ever. Quit after 9 and and in called GN and stated my complaint. Let’s see what happens.
Great Niagara Course
1st of the season and the course looks good. Greens still need time to get in peek performance. 1st time I played in 3 1/2 hours. Glad to see marshals out.
Great course
Played a last second round and the deal was outstanding. Course conditions were very nice, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Definitely would recommend and come back again.
Best course in Niagara
Played for the first time, what a course. Cart path in impressive. We played Iron bridge/Escarpment. Fairway and greens are beautiful. A must play.
Starter was ignorant to my group and other golfers
When I played this course a couple of years ago I was really turned off by the poor customer service and professionalism of the staff. I said to myself I wouldn’t go back. A friend of mine was in town and wanted to play this course recently so I regretfully decided to join him. I do believe in giving second chances, however there will never ever be a third. The same level of unacceptable customer service was yet again happening. The starter was not only rude to myself but also made a very offside comment about 2 golfers who were of another ethnicity, to another waiting golfer nearby. The amount of rules and waivers and things I couldn’t do before my round including moving the cart to the putting green was quite ridiculous. I can assure you I will never be back to this facility or any other one owned by this company.
Great course!
Course in great condition!
Tricky greens to read
Really enjoyed it.
Horrible Pace of Play
Course itself is nice. Old Canal 9 very challenging. Staff seemed indifferent except one friendly cart girl. 1:55 to play front nine (Iron Bridge) over 3 hours!!! To play back nine. They called out a ranger who did nothing to speed up play. Plus numerous groups placed in front of us after the turn. . Could have been a nice round but the pace and indifference of starters and marshals were unacceptable.
