Do not play 18 holes
This is a nine hole course. My wife and I booked for 18 holes. When we came around after the first nine, there were at least five groups ahead of us just starting out. The course allowed two groups to go out with five golfers.
In my opinion golfers who have completed the first nine should be given priority going into their second nine and should be allowed to go ahead of those just starting out. A lesson learned, we will not be back!!!
Fun course to play. Every hole is different from each other
WAY TOO CROWDED. 5 1/2 hour round. They let too many players out and too close together
Poor management of golfers
We started on the first hole and noticed there was a five some in front of us, they let us play through which was good as they were very slow. On the second 9 we had a threesome in from of us which changed to a five some at the third hole, we were only a twosome. They were obnoxious and loud, we played one hole twice hoping they would be gone from the next hole we had to go to which they were not. They would not let us play through, then as we kept playing there was another five some in front of them. We complained to the clubhouse and he said they are members they should know better and did we want to play some more golf, as we looked out those same 5 players were waiting at the first hole to do the men's night so we said forget it, my husband will not golf Orangeville anymore. . I really like Orangeville but this is the third time in the past couple of weeks that we have had a five some in front of us and the club house once again said sorry they are members and they think they own the course. It is unfortunate as I was looking very forward to golfing yesterday and the couples times before this and paid close to $100.00 for golf and beverages only to have members ruin my day and my game. Something needs to be done as your members are making your course not a place that any of my friends want to pay anymore which these people could potential members if this course was managed better. Funny a Marshall was out the last time I was there and he just drove around and did not address any of the five somes on the course.
It's a golf course.
Nice Mature course. Long walk from 7th green to 8th tee. Seniors of handicapped walkers would have some difficulty walking 8th tee to green and back to 9th tee. Had fun and would go again but not in the afternoon. Locals swarm the place around 4PM.
golf north specialty
Everything was great... except the fact that golf north had the habit of booking tee times way too close together.
We had tree time booked for 1:40 and there was a tournament that went of just before us... that was a bonehead move. The group was polite enough to let us play through. When we arrived the back 9, we were informed by staff that the last of the tournament just left and there were two 3somes ahead. He said play was going to be "painfully slow". Its bad enough that 9 hole courses are slower usually when the staff books time to close together but now you have a tournament and the 2 threesomes are now a 6 some! Round finished after 630. Thanx golfnorth...I would NEVER pay full price for a round on your courses. Golfnow is awesome. Keep it up!!!
Labour Day Golf
Played 18 holes - had a good time. Only concern is that there are no Marshalls - we had some really players ahead of us and this is coming from someone who has only played golf for the last month.
Good Day
Nice little course and can be quite challenging. Great for playing 9 holes if you do not have a lot of time.
Fairway work.
Course layout is nice. However the fairways are not as defined as they should be. The first fairway was more like a first cut of rough. If the grounds crew would cut the fairways shorter and defined the fairway lines it would make for a more enjoyable experience.
Great place
Orangeville is a fantastic little 9 hole course in the hills of Caledon!
Nice 9 Hole * 2
Good course with a perfect mix of Par 3's, 4's & 5's. The course is in very good condition although the fairways and the first cut appear to be the same length. Overall a good experience!
booked for two/made to play with four
This was the first time purchasing on Golfnow. I purchased for two people 18 holes with a cart. Price was great but I had no idea that they paired my twosome with another twosome. Was told that was the reason for the cheaper price. Not very pleased about that. We have played there several times as a twosome and were never forced to join another group. Don't get me wrong, the course was good.
review
This course was a great value for the money, however it's overbooked and the cart girl is all over you almost every hole harassing you for beers.
Best par 5 nine
This has to be the best golf deal on a par 5 course you can find anywhere within this neck of woods. The staff are friendly, the course is well laid out and maintained, and the scenery of the course is excellent. Novice or professional, you'll enjoy your round.
Good course
Course was well maintained ...Staff was great... Will play again Soon..!!
Poor tee times and unfriendly staff.
Played this course with my brothers and cousin and thought the tee times were too close together. We got stuck behind a foursome of two walkers and two on carts but took over 3 hours to play 9 holes. The beer cart girl was not very friendly when she got mad at us for not purchasing beer.
Slow play
No marshalls seen for first 6 holes 12:30 - 14:00.
There was a 4-some that needed to play faster, as there were 2 holes open ahead of them & several groups (including walkers) were held up behind them!
Later in the day there were 2 marshalls driving around. The pace of play picked up but it was too late.
open fairways
older style course with wide fairways and smaller greens. pace of play on front 9 was great but back 9 was slower. (9 hoe course). overall a fun day. Will play again.
Childhood Favourite
A local course that I have played for years, since I started playing golf actually. Have always liked it, not an overly long layout but can get you into trouble. My favourite hole being #8, a par 3 played off the top of a hill. Good course, great value and I played great too
Great Day
The course was great and the greens were well kept. Staff wonderful and the food in the dining lounge was delicious. Try it out - you'll have a blast!
