Bellville Golf & Recreation Club
About
Bellville offers a decent little 9-hole country course with wide-open fairways and small, mound-shaped greens that can be extremely tricky at times, depending on the condition. As with many small-town courses, the funds just are not available to maintain the course up to championship standards, so conditions vary depending on the weather. The trick here is to get used to the target greens and deal with the conditions-otherwise you might miss a few make-able putts. But we do that under the best of conditions, so does it really matter?
One pond comes into play on holes 6 and 7. Despite the greens, the tee boxes and fairways are generally in good condition.

Value is good
Its a good play for the money i paid. Staff was friendly and the pace was good. Greens need some work but overall we enjoyed the play
Value Course
This is a nine hole course, the greens are in decent shape, however the fairways are not good. Way too busy as well with people skipping around all over the place, you hit your ball right in the middle of the fairway to find it nestled in a mound of dirt or next to a huge weed. You get what you pay for, but if you don’t mind a hectic round mixed with bumper cars then this is your place for sure.
sprinklers on during entire 18 holes I played
We arrived early for our 8:15 tee time. The sprinklers were running even on the practice putting green. So we couldn't practice at all. Was told we could tee off when ready and the maintenance guy was good about turning them off so we could play. Well that only happened on one green the entire first 9. The maintenance guy seemed to only come and turn them off AFTER we dodged the sprinklers on the green. Had to have the office call him on the sixth hole because our balls were right next to the sprinkler and he was nowhere to be found. During the second nine, he moved the sprinklers into the fairway. So we were dodging them in the fairway instead then. Otherwise, The greens are extremely small (40 to 60 ft across) with slopes running off the Green on all sides making it very difficult to hit and stick on the green. This is not a course for a long hitter at all. I would only play if I lived close by. Not worth the drive from Katy.
