Good game
The play was a little slow on the front nine but we knew it would be given it was Sunday of the long weekend. Greens were immaculate; however, some of the fairways and tee blocks were not the best. Would not stop us from returning or recommending to others.
tough pins & windy
Extreme winds made it a difficult round. Course was in good shape, but most pins were either tucked in corners or right up front. That made it tough to make birdies. Good value for the course
solid round
tee boxes 2.5/5, need TLC
fairways 3/5, some rough patches but given hot summer it’s to be expected
greens & fringe area 4.8/5, pretty much perfect - some rougher looking areas, very fast
Great Day @ Ashbrook
I thoroughly enjoyed my round of golf on June 24, 2020 at the Ashbrook Golf Club near Port Hope. My regular partner and I were paired with 2 young men who were just terrific. We had great comeraderie despite the big age difference. The course was in excellent shape, staff helpful, and good weather. What more could you ask for!
Very good deal
I’m new to Cobourg so have been trying out all the nearby courses. I’ve now played Ash Brook twice and I’ll be back. For low-priced green fees, it’s a great course. My first round was fairly slow but this last round on a Saturday afternoon was surprisingly under 4 hours. The greens are large with moderate undulations and quick for this time of year. There’s only one lay-up par 4 and all the holes have a decent challenge to them. Overall conditions are ok. Bunkers and tees are a bit neglected but again, for the price, it’s a good deal.
First Time This Year
Course was in same shape as previous years which was fine. Starter was kind of dumb, was paired with 3 junior golfers and asked them if they wanted to play together (they were front tees I was tips) By the time i took my second shot they were just teeing off. Guy chased me down on the second hole, and forced me to hold back despite saying I wouldn't push anyone ahead (was no one on the next green). The result? 3-4 holes in front of us open by the 6th hole and 3 groups on the tee waiting to tee off while on the green. Lack of common sense basically ruined 4-5 groups rounds, and help me up by an hour. Luckily I got it sorted for the back nine.
The course is still in good shape. Only saw a few groups out there so pace of play was never a question. Staff is always pleasant and respectful out on course. Always enjoy playing this course.
My hometown course
Always enjoy playing here , there are nicer courses to play but they don’t have the relaxed and friendly feel that this one does
Terrible pace of play
Booking way too many tee times. My threesome got to hole 6 until we decided to call it quits because there were 5 groups playing one hole.
Decent course, good value
Played here on a deal - $80 for 2 ppl incl cart. We played on the Saturday of a long weekend which we knew had the potential to be slow, but the front 9 wasn’t slow - it was torturous. The group ahead of us was still waiting to tee off at every tee, and on a couple holes I saw 2 groups behind me as I stood on the tee. Luckily a couple of groups ahead must have only played 9 holes because the back 9 was more manageable and the round clocked in at just over 4 hours.
The course itself has a fairly straight forward layout, great for my wife who is just learning the game. Fairways are wide, greens were in good shape. Bunkers had very little sand, and tee boxes were hard with lots of weeds and patches. It’s a very walkable track.
Staff was very friendly and the cart girl kept very busy, seemed like we never went more than 3 holes without seeing her.
Overall we thought it was good value for what we paid and would consider playing again.

Very friendly staff. Easy course to walk on a sunny day.
Greens were fast and in excellent shape. Tee boxes could use a little tender loving care. Overall we had an excellent day.
