Well maintained golf course
The course is very well maintained and no complaints on fairways n greens. The rough is pretty dense n tall so if can cut shorter, finding the balls will be easier n quicken the pace. The tee platforms are one of the best I have seen, even compared to more expensive golf courses. Keep up the good work. Staff was very polite n friendly and the beverage cart is always around. Overall a very good course worth coming back.
Poor course time management
Got a bums rush off last three holes yesterday. Apparently course had booked a school to use entire course (shotgun start) mid day. They failed to advise those who teed off earlier in the day and had paid for a full 18 holes that there was a time pressure! Also failed. to put Marshall's on the course to ensure pace of play was maintained throughout the course. Had to wait on every hole ! Only became aware of situation when we were approaching 16th tee. Very poor course management!
Oct 2
Very disappointed with the staff. On the 16th tee we were advised we had 15 minutes to finish as a shot gun start was about to go. At no time were we advised of this, not at time of booking nor check in. Pace of play was slow and other than the visit at the 16 th tee, there was no attempt to push the pace of play. We push our way through 18 forcing the tournament to wait. They can’t be too happy either.
Terrible management, rude staff (assistant pro and head pro)
I play ~80 rounds of golf in a year, both public and private ones. This is the 1st time I visited Bloomington Downs.
When we were finishing the 15th hole, a guy (Brian Cherniawski) came over and told us that they needed to kick us off the course in 15min. He claimed that they informed us that during checking in that a tournament would start at 12:30pm. This guy was an assistant pro in the course and he was pretty arrogant. There were a number of things
1- nobody informed us at all, and Brian was making false claim into our face without checking
2- they should’ve informed their paying player before they book, not when they check-in.
3- they should never sell a tee time at 8:50am when a tournament is scheduled at 12:30pm, or the other way round.
4- the owner of this course need to get their staff, including the pro and assistant pro better training on how they speak with their customers.
I won’t recommend this course to any player or any organization who wants to have a tournament.
Good all round course
In my opinion, Bloomington Downs was a great bang for your buck a few years ago, but with increasing fees and increased volume of players on the course, it’s been a little disappointing. But that’s golf I guess
Great family course!
We played this course for the first time with our 13 year old son. It is very walker friendly. Course was in excellent condition and well maintained. Carts were clean and the staff was extremely friendly.
Low maintenance
I guess I will never go back to this course unless it’s necessary.
Low maintenance, long grass at tee box, busy packed up, golfers are inpatient
🌟:2/5
Overbooking
My tee time was 2:30 pm and I ended up at 7:50pm. Can you believe it took more than 5 hours to finish 18 holes? I spent my time more for waiting than playing golf. At least 2 teams were waiting at one hole. At the 15th hole, I met another team and his tee time was 3:30pm. This is so ridiculous. Never go. No marshall, no management. Wasted my money.
Electric fences for cats annoying
No warning was given about carts stopping all of a sudden on par 3's and elsewhere
Great Value!
Having played this course a few times, it is tremendous value for the monies spent. New carts for those that prefer to ride. Walkers can enjoy the many kms without feeling too tired. I find the layout for players in the beginners and intermediate levels. The staff are amazing and the food when it comes from the permanent food truck is good. Many would love the biggest driving range I have come across! Play a round and try their new expanded tee boxes.
