tight, not long.... but tough
course conditions little better than average... fun track. hard off the tee.... tough approach shots into greens
Spring Awakening
Had a great early season round on Lakeland, and Homestead on Monday. Greens were in absolutely awesome condition. I was shocked how good they were. Fairways and green collars need to grow a bit, but April/May has not provided the required heat to date.and they will come around...There were certainly some wet spots in the low areas. All said two thumbs up for May 9
Not Bad For a First Time
Nice course, nice layout. My wife and I were golfing as a pair with a power cart (a gift for Mother's Day) and upon our check in with the starter we were told we were matched up with a single golfer (walking). Never have I had this kind of pairing. We were not able to detach ourselves from them either as there were players ahead and behind us. This greatly slowed our afternoon, luckily it did not affect the plans we had afterwards and were able to finish our round. But really made for a stressful afternoon. Also there were no on-course amenities (snacks and/or drinks) and no mention of this on the website or at check in. Would love to return, but as it's only my wife and I, I'm not keen on being paired up with strangers, especially those walking while we drive and have to wait.
first round of the year
Course was in decent shape given they has=d just opened 3 days prior...as always great track needs bunker sand
Great course layout but everything else so-so.
I played this course earlier in the summer. That was a more pleasurable experience because course conditions and pace of play were better. This time the course was wet and the pace of play was atrocious. Too many golfers packed on to the course with not enough time interval between tee-off. The starter was practically yelling at us to tee-off even though we were there ahead of our scheduled time. Also the rest room facilities are less than ideal. But the course layout is very good and challenging to the average golfer. Will play it again next season just for that reason.
Westview Lakeland / Middle
Course is in great shape, greens are great as well. Love the feel at Westview, staff and patrons are very friendly.
Slow Play and No Marshal
Course is in good condition but greens are a bit slower and more uneven than when I played it a few years ago. Unfortunately our foursome was behind 3 women who were very slow. After 9 holes they were 2 1/2 holes behind the group in front of them. Eventually I called the pro shop as there were no marshals that I can see on the course. Although they did sent someone we had played through as did the group behind us. It was also chaotic at the turn. There are 3 nines and during the crossover there were groups starting and others waiting to play their back nine.
Slow play!
Played here twice, 2-5 mins wait since the first tee box both time I played here. No Marshall. Course is in a ok shape.
First time at the course, I really like the lay out of the holes.
However, this is near the 'not-so-walkable' end of courses - long and very hilly.
The day that I went, they had put sand on each green which was very frustrating as every shot needed my ball to be wiped. We were not notified of this prior to it occurring.
