Bloomington Downs Golf Club

The course layout was very nice.. challenging but fair. Pace of play was a little slow. I didn’t see a course marshal. The tees were a little sparse.

Fairways and greens were in good shape.

All in all, it was a great day.. weather was perfect.

We enjoyed the course but play was slow ... it took 2.5 hours for 9 holes!

Staff was friendly and professional especially the beverage cart girl.

Despite living within 20 minutes, this was my first time playing at the course. Heavy rains in the days leading up to tee off caused some of the rough areas to hold excess water, but that is OK because it was well off the fairways. Only 2 bunkers were seen to be unplayable due to standing water. Otherwise the course was in good mid-season shape - and looks to be well maintained on a regular basis. Looking at the card and the total yardage, I was not expecting the holes to be as visually separated as they in fact are. There are still wooded areas that separate adjoining holes, which made parts of the course feel more remote than it is. The course is very playable for all skill sets, which leads to the only true complaint that was found - pace of play. Waiting for tee shots turned a round that should have been 4:15 into just over 5:00. That was mid-week with a start just after noon. I'm afraid what a weekend round would be. The experience was enjoyable from a staff perspective too. Proshop and on-course were pleasant and professional. For location and time of playing, the round rate was attractive, which also accounts for the full tee sheet. Other than pace, this was a good value outing.

Ok course but terrible reservation policy. $10 online reservation fee is a total money grab and only option to reserve is to pay for everyone’s green fee upfront. When you checked in you can’t pay the green fees individually because they already charge the full amount so you end up having to e transfer funds to each other yet carts can be changed individually.

I took my kids there and we had a good time. Nice course, well taken cared of and friendly staff. Good value for money compared to other more expensive courses around there.

I have booked tee times at this course every year for the past 20+ years for a group of friends who are average golfers. Now we are seniors and enjoy the lower rate. The pace of play is consistent and there are some challenging holes. The staff are always friendly. The conditions of the tee blocks have improved over previous years. Our group will be back next year.

A fun course but very soggy conditions. Otherwise great fun and challenging holes.

The greens are getting many ball marks. Golfers need to be encouraged to repair ball marks on all greens.
