Good value, good course, horrendous pace of play
Played Bloomington on a Saturday at 2:50, put with a pair of people that were also walking, ended at 9. Course conditions were fairly good, obviously the goose poo was not ideal but that is uncontrollable.
The only true issue was the pace of play, and the fact that the marshal did nothing about it - despite being told twice on the front nine alone - to notify the two groups ahead that we would like to play through, because they legitimately took 30+ minutes per hole.
If this were to happen again, I would likely request a refund. I understand courses must be accommodating towards newcomers to the game, but it is entirely unfair to force experienced players to lose 2 hours as a result.
Watch out for theft
The course is fine but the staff in the proshop can be very unpleasant. The last time I played the course they accidently charged me an additionally greens fee. I assumed this wasn't a big deal so after the round I went back to the pro shop and they refused my refund. They only offered me a rain check even though they made the mistake. I felt taken advantage of by the illegal act. I live in the city and never travel to Richmond HIll so a rain check is not helpful. I will be reporting the club to the BBB.
Tee decks unplayable
I have never experienced tee decks where you snap your tee in half trying to put it into the ground.
The tee decks are unplayable and it feels as if you are penalized while on the tee decks as setting your ball is next to impossible, and the ground is incredibly hard. Not an enjoyable experience.
Great day
We had a great day at Bloomington. Gorgeous weather and the course was in great shape. A little damp in spots.
I screwed up and paid full price. I am 64 and thought the Senior discount started at 65 so I didn’t ask for it.
Nice course, terrible pace of play
It took us more than 5 hours to play as the foursome in front of us were extremely slow…..course staff did little to solve the situation. At some point there 2 free holes in front of them.
