Easy but good maintained course
BDG is a pretty straightforward course, most of holes are straight, however, some with hills prevent seeing all through, indeed increase the challenges and fun,. Not much of water, only 3 or 4 holes have water. With Fall leaves, one may find it hard to find balls at the edge of trees.
A bit unpleasant experience is on staff side. I was asked if I had already paid at GN at check-in, which indicated that they did know I had paid, but somehow, they still double charge me full courses. Now getting into after-sales expedite. Hopefully they will refund me, but hard to understand why they did it initially.
Follow-Up
I decided to play this course again after a terrible experience last time. I've played it regularly over the years and quite like it, but the pace of play was awful last time. This time ... even worse. We began behind three middle-aged men, poor golfers who literally searched for lost balls after every drive. Despite their slow play, they managed to play through the group ahead of them! That clearly inexperienced group, now ahead of us, consisted of three young women, one young man and a dog! And not a little dog - an English Sheep Dog! How can this happen?! Because there was no Starter and we never saw a Marshall or even a beer cart all day. It took us several holes to play through that group and then we were back behind the very slow group of middle-aged men. Behind us more groups were playing through the "Dog" group, and by the 16th tee we were one of three groups waiting to tee off. This pace of play is really unacceptable. Rounds routinely over 5 hours cry out for the hiring of Marshalls to move weak golfers along. With the current situation I can't recommend this course to anyone.
bloomington downs
The course was generally in fair condition. Ground was hard due to lack of rain cannot insert tee.
Greens were extremely fast.
Started at 11:20. Finished at 4::00. That’s just too long.
Slowest game ever
We were delayed at T-off off due to (we were told by staff) a slow group ahead that morning. Our round took 6 hours to complete and we, waited at every hole for the group's ahead to finish. That's unacceptable and unfortunate because I won't be back. People were driving onto other holes while we were teeing off and holding us up even more to hit their balls to their hole without even waving or anything. Balls were flying at us with no one yelling 4. It was the wild west of golf. The sandwiches on the cart were not worth $8 and could use an update. People were playing the course in jeans, not appropriate golf attire. What saved this day was the perfect weather.
