It’s been a couple of years since I have played the course.. I just played the back nine as a single as I tee’d off early enough so as to not run into any groups finishing the front nine.
What I was pleasantly surprised with was a new blue tee box making the course more interesting and challenging. The greens were in superb condition and the general condition of the course was excellent.
The practice facility has always been excellent and they are continually improving it. Truly a great experience at a very reasonless price.
A lot of improvements to the course
A lot of improvements have been made to the course. All the works have been completed since the spring this year. It was my son's first rounding ever. I was glad that this course could give him very good impression about going out on a golf course. Thanks.
Great day in my life
Weather was perfect, Pace was awesome, Greens were running at a good pace. Fairways were in good shape. With the new addition of the blue tees makes the course very competitive with blue tees at 6,442. It led to a perfect game for me. It was also the first time ever that I shot a round of 72 with 5 birdies and 5 bogeys to offset the birdies. It was a great day thanks to Bloomington Downs.
Bloomington
Course was extremely slow, 4 golfers walking in front of us; lots of muddy portions leading to several tees . Good to see trimming of rough areas.on the course,
Tough tee boxes
Course was in good shape but some of the new tee boxes require a hammer to set your tee into the ground.
Pace was okay, finished in 4.5 hrs walking.
Tee platforms need improvement
Several tee platforms are really like hard pan and the tees cannot pin through. Just wonder what caused it, lack of water or the underlying soil problem? The rest of the course like fairways, greens are good, and rough cut short making it easier to locate the ball n quicken the pace. Overall speaking, this course has improved a lot. Check in was quick and staff very friendly n polite. Beverage cart is always around and pace is acceptable on Friday afternoon.
Tee boxes are too hard
We had a very enjoyable day, the course was in excellent shape except for the tee boxes which were so hard both of us broke our tees a couple of times while trying to hammer them in. This could be fixed by more frequent watering of the tee boxes, just my opinion. Check out my photo of my “almost birdie” which made us all laugh.
