Shawneeki Golf Club

We got rained out on our course at 3pm. We started at 1pm and the group ahead of us were very slow. Talked to the Marshall at 3rd hole but didn’t do anything about it. The group ahead of them were off and gone leaving an empty hole wherever the group in front teed off. This caused us to only finish 5 holes by the time we got rained out. Our rain check was prorated to 5 holes which didn’t not include cart fees ($22). It was a very unsatisfactory round. We should have been given a full refund/rain check.

A very enjoyable round of golf played in just over four hours which is great for weekend play. Course in excellent condition. Paired up with another twosome who were fun to play with

Props to the grounds crew at Shawneeki. This course is the best that I’ve played on in a while. Keep up the good work!

Close and convenient to Newmarket. Well maintained. Decent design. Challenging but fair. fair value at C$75 with cart.

Golf course was in great and consistent shape throughout. The main issue I had with my experience was the very poor customer service. From the starter making assumptions about our group and making rude comments, to the marshal who yelled across the fairway that we hurry up meanwhile we waited on every shot and the group behind us was two holes behind. At least come and talk to us in person, not yell across the hole. And on top of that, they let out twosomes on a busy Sunday morning which held up the entire course but my friend hitting a provisional of the tee is the problem. Either an untrained marshal or one that doesn’t give a woot. The pro shop staff gave zero interest about anything, blew us off as we weren’t worth their time. The food and beverage staff were the best by far. I’ve golfed here over 25 times and this experience has me debating if I ever go back. I’ve worked in the golf industry for 10 years as a professional and it’s the first time I felt the need to leave a review at a course I played … that’s how unpleasant of an experience I had.
