Greens at Renton - Blue Nine
About
Located in southwestern Ontario in the community of Simcoe, the Greens at Renton offers three nines that are easily accessible from Brantford and Hamilton. The nines can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. Each golf course is approximately 3,130 yards from the back tees and they also have nearly identical ratings but they each offer something different. The Blue Course is mostly flat with some trees. There are a few sand traps scattered throughout and a large lake comes into play on the third hole. If the three courses aren't enough, the Greens at Renton also offers an expansive driving range with a chipping green and practice bunkers.

Notice
We should have been warned they we sanding the greens, they were in poor condition
Workers that interrupt and interfeer with your play
The ground keepers were top dressing the greens. Not once but twice they drove their equipment onto the greens when we were standing over our ball about to hit our approach shots. At one time as we drove to the green they started doing the green and as my wife was going to hit a chip onto the green the person drive half way across the green and stopped and waited for her to take her shot. I have never seen ground keepers that were anywhere near as ignorant as these and it appeared the supervisor was there with them.
Outstanding Value
Decided to play on Thanksgiving Monday as it was a fantastic day. Most places were fully booked but managed to get on at Greens at Renton.
Not really the middle of nowhere but an hour from most large centres but well worth the drive. The pro shop staff were great, as were the marshals on the course.
This course would be $70 anywhere in the GTA, we only payed $36 including cart.
Highly recommended.
nice course
fun outing. enjoyed the fast pace of play do not enjoy being told to write a longer review.
The Greens at Renton
Played this golf course with my wife and both of us were pleasantly surprised with the Greens at Renton.
Over all it is well maintained public course with the fast greens and interesting layouts.
The course is not that long (slightly above 6000 yards) but, the ball placement from the tee playing par 4 holes requires a special attention before going for the greens.
Not all of the sand bunkers were in good shape (no much sand in it) however; the maintaining crew of the course works on it.
I definitely play this course again and recommend to any one else to play it.
A GEM that is worth the drive!
Did not know too much about this course prior to deciding to make the drive down towards Simcoe. It is always a treat to feel welcomed and both the pro shop staff and the starter did exactly that. From the blue tees the course is 6225 yds and has some very nicely laid out and attractive holes. The rolling terrain and the forest mixed into the red and blue nines we played made for some enjoyable golf. Lots of hills so it's a good workout if your walking. I look forward to playing this course for the second time and more!
Excellent Course
Pace of play was spectacular, played in under 3 hours. Green were rolling well and the rough was thick. Parts of the fairway were patchy but overall in good condition. Bunkers need a lot of work though. I was thoroughly pleased with the course and would play there again in a heartbeat.
Great layout and assortment of golf holes
Condition of tee decks could use some attention.
Would play this course again.
Can't beat "The Greens"
The GOR provides a great golf experience with 27 holes of well maintained course and a top rate staff in the pro shop, at the starter's station and at the halfway house.
The three nines are called Blue, Green and Red and a neat fixture are the ball washers which are painted the respective nine's colour. Although my partner and I carted, the course is a fairly easy walk measuring 6200 from the tips with three forward sets of tees. Each hole has a diagram beside the tee and signs are plentiful to guide the golfer from green to tee.
We played the Blue and Green nines which featured a nice mix of holes some with water hazards and others with tree-lined fairways. Greenside bunkers guard most holes and there are a number of holes with fairway sand. The greens are fairly large and undulating and provide a moderate pace for putting.
Except for some rough patches on some of the fairways and a couple of bunkers undergoing repairs, the course was in outstanding condition.
I'll certainly be back to try the Red nine.
Hidden Gem
This course is always good value, and worth the time to play. 27 holes meandering through trees, and elevation changes, make this course both fun, and challenging. Greens were quick, and true. Check it out, you will be happy that you did.
great day, great pace, great price
We had a threesome tee time for 9am and even though it was busy we still finished under 4 hrs. Course was in very good shape.Well worth it for 43$ taxes all in including cart.
Will play again

great facility
We've played this course occasionally over the years, but it's now in the best condition we've ever seen it. New ownership has taken this course up a notch. Great condition
Very nice track
I have not one negative thing to say about this course. Everything was A+.
Excellent golf course
Absolutely top notch facility, great layout, very well kept, interesting and varied holes, great greens and fast and run true. Overall a very nice golf experience.
Cute Course
In one word, I would describe The Greens at Renton as cute. The scenery was very enjoyable which included rolling country hills, fruit trees moreover a lot of trees in play! Other added nature elements included marshlands, chipmunks, brown tailed squirrels, beavers and birds.
On first glance, the yardage and handicap rating appeared amusing and despite being far from a championship course; the layout requires sensible play and shot placement as the design itself uses tight treeline, hills, bunkers, water, OB and hidden hazards to challenge golfers.
Overall the course is moderately firm. The tee boxes are below average at times so be conscientious on your set up as I had slipped once attempting to turn up a drive. The fairways are a little bit patchy and far from being lush carpet but very playable. A few of the fairways are under repair and designated. The greenside bunkers are very playable. Lastly, the greens do roll true and at medium paced.
The layout itself doesn't suit my style as I like to shape the driver instead of woods and hybrids off the tee but I would recommend aspiring high handicappers and seniors this course as it would test their ability yet offer a pretty country setting.
Amazing Condition
The course is very well kept. Quick greens, lushes fairways and thick ruff. A lot of work has gone into this course. Will be back again with out a doubt.
First time at the Greens
Quite enjoyed the course . Played blue to green . The course offers some challenges , mostly the wind . Greens were in great shape and the fairways were nice as well.
Good Course
This is a very good course and very fair for the average golfer. Unless you get a good golf price on line it is overpriced.Their service was great and their facilities are second to none but never pay full price.
