Greens at Renton - Blue Nine

About
Located in southwestern Ontario in the community of Simcoe, the Greens at Renton offers three nines that are easily accessible from Brantford and Hamilton. The nines can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. Each golf course is approximately 3,130 yards from the back tees and they also have nearly identical ratings but they each offer something different. The Blue Course is mostly flat with some trees. There are a few sand traps scattered throughout and a large lake comes into play on the third hole. If the three courses aren't enough, the Greens at Renton also offers an expansive driving range with a chipping green and practice bunkers.

Best shape I’ve seen the course
The course was in fantastic shape the people were friendly a great afternoon of golf
Canada Day
Great place of play, secluded, great conditions, GPS golf carts are good and bad. Speed limit locks cart, off certain paths locks carts.
Worst wedding venue
My neice rented this club for her wedding. To start with there was no sign and no attendant present to direct people to wedding. The pathetic area they seat you in has a bunch of half dead flowers and bushes between you and the couple. The only things flowering were the weeds. They had a radio playing on one speaker they also had piano music playing over top of it. Giving you a migraine. The rags they slung around the wedding arch were tattered at the ends and frayed. Once the wedding finished we were directed inside. The room was too small for the amount of tables.set up. They had same radio music speaker inside with piano music playing over top. And there were no chairs to sit on. The baffon setting up the tables put the runners on upside down. The center piece flowers were already wilting. A picture on the wall was falling apart. We had to get our own chairs in from outside. We sat inside the snacks provided were laying on the table top. Salami cuts with cookies and chocolates on top. So everything tasted like salami. The fruit punch was disgusting and the only beverage offered. Sadly their pop at the bar was ridiculously priced. And then the meal came with half cooked hamburger sliders which made more then half the guest violently I'll during or after dinner. Do not have a wedding here it's a dibochery and very shotty.
Great course
Just have a sign at the little hut that sells snacks and beverages. It is not very obvious as to what it is until you drive by and see inside.
Overall was great
We have a suggestion to put a sandwich sign at the proximate halfway mark where the little shack was to buy snacks and refreshments. Otherwise you don’t know what it is.
Carts are terrible
Course was wet and carh path only but carts shut off regularly. Not just for leaving the path slightly but if you drove them too fast. 11 kms is too fast apparently. Also no beer service on the back 9. I used to like this course but not going back
Golf course version of Karen's Diner. Make sure to kiss the ground by the porta potty next to green 2 and admire their pond fountain feature or you will be trespassed.
Enjoyed
As usual the course is in good shape. My only complaint is that the greens had many ball marks in them. Not a course issue that’s a patron issue
Guys fix your ball marks when you make one. Common courtesy.
Carts are terrible
Since Greens of Renton converted the carts to GPS controlled it makes for a frustrating round. Areas where you should be able to drive to your ball the cart stops you and makes you back up this even happens on the cart paths too. They need to re calibrate these but other than this frustration the course was great value for the money, staff were friendly too.
Back to reality
First time playing this course and would highly recommended to everyone. Course was in excellent condition, greens were exceptional. We paid $59 cart included for an am tee time. Price was perfect, course was pristine.
Thanks Greens at Renton for supplying an exceptional course at a realistic cost. These other courses are out to ouch with the rates.
Speaking of lunch we are in the dining room after our round and the food to was exceptional. It took about 30 minutes for get our food but we’ll worth the wait.
Only complaint
I still lose golf balls. Guess that’s my problem.
15 year absence
Course was more mature than 15 years ago. Pro shop is well stocked. Staff was cordial and kind some areas of the course should be better marked specially areas where the three nine converge. Fortunately, I played with members otherwise I would have been lost as to the t blocks to play from. Course looks well maintained.
