C at best or D+ at worst.
PROS over local competition
+ Cheaper and has a variety of challenge so it's a great course to learn at or play at the start of a year
+ Fantastic course to play with a newer golfer or younger family members.
CONS or compromises
-Poor green conditions, they are consistently the slowest I've ever played. One time out of the 15 or so times I've played there they've been acceptable. If you play here often expect your short game everywhere else to be horrible.
-Very poor tee block conditions. Depends on the hole but most are bumpy and uneven. No maintenance done during the day.
-Dry summer has made most of the rough not much of a factor but prior years this wasn't a problem. Expect the course to reflect the weather.
-Long waits. If you're going to play here you have to accept that you may have to wait 5-15 minutes to take shots depending on the day and time. Large backups are common on weekends.
Pros or cons
+- Extreme lack of obstacles that decrease in number every year.
+- Hole 10 and 18 are par 3's that "require" 175ish+ yard carries from white due to some of the only real obstacles on the course.
Overall the real downfalls of the course (that I cannot compromise on as a low-mid end player) come down to the green speeds. Faster greens would move this up to a C+ or B- by itself. But for the area it holds a key spot in being extremely approachable for new players or casuals due to a low price and low expectations.
Needs work.
Course in poor condition. Hard for chipping related to barren fairways. Beautiful setting of course, just needed water and work. Nicely challenging.
The course has courteous staff
Excellent reception from staff
Short course,slow greens,mosquito infested,no beverage cart
Course yardage much shorter than scorecard indicated, mosquitoes were at times unbearable, greens were inconsistent and very slow, food was poor quality and selection, noticed plenty of trees missing since prior visit which reduced course difficulty significantly. good little beginner course but over priced
big improvement
it's been a number of years since my wife and I played here...the course has been improved immensely and the facilities have also received a major upgrade
Fun Day Of Golf at a Great Rate
I haven't played this course in a number of years even though it is only 5 miles down the road from my home. A number of holes have been changed or lengthened, all for the better. The course has been opened up more now with a lot of the brush removed. It is more scenic now with a more professional layout. A fun day of golf at a great price on a much improved course. Impressive, nice updates.
Nice course
Nice course but the mosquitoes were bad. Bring some bug spray!
Hidden Jewel
Great spring golf . Staff super friendly. short course but you need to use all your clubs.
This is a great course and a hidden gem.
It is flat enough to walk but often a long hike between greens and the next tees. I really like how you can be playing and not see another fairway. It is like hiking through the bush with no one around. The fairways are often narrow and there is lots water and white sand bunkers where you don't want them but challenge is what it is all about. The course is in excellent shape.
