Rockway Vineyards Golf Course
About
Rockway Vineyards Golf Course offers an 18-hole championship round with the Niagara Escarpment and the Rockway Conservation Area serving as the backdrop. The course sprawls across the vineyards of the Rockway Vineyards Estate Winery. The rolling landscape provides tricky elevation changes and there are numerous ponds and bunkers throughout the golf course. The layout features large, sculpted greens and fairways that are flanked by more than 60 sand bunkers. The front nine features a challenging set of par 4s and fast, undulating greens. Vineyards's back nine begins gently with short approach shots and birdie opportunities but becomes more challenging once you hit the 13th hole, a par-4 dogleg left.

Good course, good day, good round
Service was great from start to finish, course in excellent shape. Five tee boxes allows you to play at your level. Range is passable, chipping and putting greens true representation of course conditions.
Great day!
Easy check-in at the pro shop. Even gave us a coupon for a wine tasting after the game. Actually got to tee off a bit early, which was nice. Course was in pretty good shape, though dry in many places. Well laid out course with lots of fescue that will eat your ball up. The key is to keep the ball in the fairway!
Pace of play was very good. Cart girl was very friendly and prices for beverages/snacks reasonable.
Lunch after the game was good. Overall friendly staff throughout the course.
Buying wine at the end was an added treat!
We will be back!
Good day
Played with a couple members who were great and had a really nice round of golf.
Perfect Day
My playing partner and I enjoyed the course. It is in much better shape than most courses in the Niagara region due to the amount of rainfall recently. Not much challenge off the tee, but get around the greens and watch out! Excellent placing of bunkers which makes you think a little more. Don't be above the hole on most holes as the downhill putts break alot and are quick. We played with members and had a very enjoyable day. Would recommend this course to anyone wanting a pretty good challenge to your short game.
Very windy day made for tough golfing along with thick deep rough. First day power carts out thank goodness. Still enjoyed the course and day.
Great course, very open layout, not many trees, very hilly, sometimes hard to see where ball lands especially if you end up in the rough (very deep rough), definitely will play again
wet, wet, wet
Did I mentioned that the course was wet. Not the fault of management of course mostly due to much rain over the last couple days however some areas are the result of poor drainage - the water in the ponds was lower than the water on the fairways. I booked the round with GolfNow with cart but only to find out on getting there no carts allowed anywhere on the course. The only good part was the greens; fairways fair; bunkers impossible (standing water); and rough - uncut and wet. Long hard day but better than most other options. Back in couple weeks when conditions improve. .
weather at fault
I've played here many times and like the course. This time the wet weather made it basically un-playable. The greens were in very good condition but the fairways and rough were all ankle deep water. We slogged through 9 holes (shot 66) and quit. We asked for and received without question a rain check for 9 holes. On a nice weather day, this is a good course.
Hello, thank you for taking the time to review Rockway Vineyards. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
good value
Best around for Spring Golf considering the rain we have had . Course would be in great condition if it ever warms up and drys out .
Picture Perfect
First time playing here and very much enjoyed it. Unfortunately the course took a beating the past couple of days with rain, so the rough was very thick and the fairways and traps were very wet. Greens were in great shape and for the ones which were sloped and able to dry, they were quick. Good distance between forward tees and the other tees, giving every skill level an opportunity to play well. The layout was very good with the right amount of hazards (fairway and green side traps, water hazards, doglegs and elevated greens) testing all skill levels. I am a 7-8 and my wife a 32 handicapper. We both will definitely return.
Have played the course many times in the past couple years as I was part of a Tuesday night league run at the course. My league moved this year and this was only my 2nd time playing it this year. Found the course is not in nearly the shape it was in the last couple years.
It was jus OK...
Read a number of reviews about the course but didn't find it that memorable. Unfortunately, they booked a tournament on earlier Saturday morning which caused our round to be delayed. I think they have a very loyal membership and staff that are pretty friendly but the course was dried out, not that challenging and pretty average.
If you're from out of town, visiting the Falls or NOTL, you might want to consider a different option. Sorry, just not that memorable of a course.
Hello, thank you for reviewing Rockway Vineyards. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about the course is important to us. With the recent rain we are working to get everything up to par. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing and we hope to see you again soon.
