Rockway Vineyards Golf Course
About
Rockway Vineyards Golf Course offers an 18-hole championship round with the Niagara Escarpment and the Rockway Conservation Area serving as the backdrop. The course sprawls across the vineyards of the Rockway Vineyards Estate Winery. The rolling landscape provides tricky elevation changes and there are numerous ponds and bunkers throughout the golf course. The layout features large, sculpted greens and fairways that are flanked by more than 60 sand bunkers. The front nine features a challenging set of par 4s and fast, undulating greens. Vineyards's back nine begins gently with short approach shots and birdie opportunities but becomes more challenging once you hit the 13th hole, a par-4 dogleg left.

Green in great shape
Course in good shape with the long drought we have, green run ture and fast when it dry up, take a few holes to getting use to the air cannon sound, according to the 3 club members I played with, it only happens in September and October. Done go right in the first hole .
Great Shape
I was met by friendly pro shop staff and starter. Starter remembered my name after 18 holes! Pace of play was 4 hours on a Monday morning. The course has a Monday special all day, 18 holes and power cart for $39. I played with two members and had a great round of golf. They informed me how putts break on the greens with regards to the Niagara Escarpment. I would return to this course and I would recommend it. No beverage/food cart during the round but there is a hut between 9th green and 10th tee. The course is a 40 minute drive from Burlington during the week.
the course was good
Do not entertain going into club house, very very expensive, I will play golf there again, but will definitely not go into club house, way way over priced.
A Good Round
Despite extremely dry conditions in the area greens, tee boxes and fairways were all green and lush. Greens were in excellent condition. Fairways are generous, but you can get in some difficulty if you stray.
Rockway
an extended dry spell left the course hard and dry. Greens and fairways pretty good despite the lack of rain. Bunkers groomed but very little sand; tough to get the ball up with any kind of spin. Pace of play 4 3/4 hrs. Only peeve is the 2 or 3 blind tee shots to fairways with large dips/valleys in them; can't see the group ahead unless you go 50-75 yds ahead of tee box. Easy with a cart; a pain in the neck if you are walking! Overall a pleasant day; food was good after our round.
Great food and good course conditions
Despite high wind and cool temperatures, we had a very pleasant afternoon.
Greens and Fairways
I just think we picked the wrong time to play.
The course had aerated their greens five days prior, and of course there was no warning of the issue.
The Greens were slow and bumpy, nothing i hate worse.
The fairways were also very thick and long, the ball never seemed to sit up at all, also the turf was very sticky. You have to strike the ball perfectly.
The course was in good shape. although the front bunker on 18th was complete disaster, not sure is they are going to repair it or remove it.
Good condition for early in the year
Overall very nice. Greens were recently "punched and top dressed" - but rest of course well maintained. Greens will be nice next week.
Gem of a course
Great little course that really changes depending on which tee block you play from. Played from the blues and this really changed the club and shot selection. I am looking forward to playing again soon.
Pretty good
This course is "almost". It's almost a great layout, it's almost in decent shape, it's almost picturesque, etc. Just leaves one feeling it could be better. But still pretty good.
Not bad for money
Good course very challenging with the wind unfortunately they airated the greens but the putts still rolled straight over all good value looking forward to next year
PACE OF PLAY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED
the course is SO beautifully kept it is like a walk in the garden of Eden at times!
However, yesterday there was a foursome who were way off the pace and after we had caught up to them (with 2 groups between us) it was like torture waiting 10 minutes of more to play a shot. Plus with another 3 or 4 groups caught up to us behind us we felt crushed in a assembly line...
not too tough
Nice course ... not too difficult but interesting. I whined a lot .. but the wine is good ...
Nice course
Enjoyed this course. Greens a little slower than the last 3 courses I played in the region. Quite wide open and hard to get into trouble if you are careful enough.
will play again Nice course
Very Pleasant Day
I would recommend this course to anyone who would like to spend a great day in the country. Not only is the drive to the course a very nice experience, the course itself is wonderful to play. Everything is well cared for. The greens are in good shape and are much more difficult than they look. Fairly long, especially from the gold tees. Keep it in the fairways because the rough is long and not easy to play from. All in all, a very nice day!!
Fun in The Vineyard
Course was in real good shape. Fairways were nice and soft and greens were in good shape and fast. Pretty straight course but adds difficulty with traps and a little water. I got a good deal on GolfNow at %50 off so for the money GREAT value! Also this is a picturesque course set right in the heart of Vineyard country...post card type scenes!
Enjoy this course today!
This is one fine golf course. From the courteous people in the club house to the fabulous food during and after the round. The course is challenging from the members tees and tough from the pro tees. The tee blocks, fairways and greens are in great shape. As a single joining others to play, I've had only positive experiences. Surprisingly, the people I had the privilege of playing with were from the Toronto and Brantford areas. Quite the way to travel to play golf, especially with all the quality golf courses they would have passed by to get here. It says a lot about the course. My last round was just over 4 hours on an extremely busy day at the course (men's league, junior training etc.). Love the course. LOVE the food. And there is a winery on the property with a great selection of wines. Wine tasting before the round anyone! A must try golf course.
Fast Greens
Greens were fast took a few holes to get used to them
Return to Rockway
I'll be coming again. One of my favourite courses. I also appreciated the senior's tees. Not many courses have that feature. By the way, they have great wines as well.
Rockway Vineyard review
Great course greens were in great shape as well. Staff were helpful and friendly. I will be back for sure.
