Rockway Vineyards Golf Course
About
Rockway Vineyards Golf Course offers an 18-hole championship round with the Niagara Escarpment and the Rockway Conservation Area serving as the backdrop. The course sprawls across the vineyards of the Rockway Vineyards Estate Winery. The rolling landscape provides tricky elevation changes and there are numerous ponds and bunkers throughout the golf course. The layout features large, sculpted greens and fairways that are flanked by more than 60 sand bunkers. The front nine features a challenging set of par 4s and fast, undulating greens. Vineyards's back nine begins gently with short approach shots and birdie opportunities but becomes more challenging once you hit the 13th hole, a par-4 dogleg left.

Rockway Vineyard review
Great course greens were in great shape as well. Staff were helpful and friendly. I will be back for sure.
rain stopped and then wow
played as twosome not too busy because of rain.first 8 holes little rain then came out dried up greens ..greens were nice able to hit into.faiways were perfect ..and the sand was great even in wet condition ..would recommend and will play again
Nice course
Nice course. Friendly staff. especially the starter. Course was in great shape. Went as a single rider and was paired with two that were walking. Course was busy but play was at a steady pace. Had a few groups in front and atleast one behind. Never met either group on a tee box. The rare time that we had to wait on tee boxes it was very brief and were able to tee off after the group in front had hit their second shots. May have got lucky that everyone knew their golf etiquette. All in all great value and a excellent round.
Too Bad for the Previous Day Rains
I bet you this course would be really nice if it hadn't rained 3" the previous day. My biggest pet peeve is the retired 4-some ahead of us for 14 straight holes and not letting/waving us through. What has happened to the courtesy that was once found on a golf course? And don't get me started on everyone ignoring their ball marks on the greens.
I wouldn't hesitate to return to this course, especially if I could find another great deal on GolfNow.com
Nice Course, Wel Maintained
Good challenge to the average golfer, great outing and layout, excellent power cart (worth mentioning) - very enjoyable. And you can shop for wine, taste sample onsite - very reasonable..
Challenges all your shots.
I've played Rockway for a number of years. I find each time has a different challenge. Wind will usually come into play making some holes much longer depending on the wind direction. Greens are fast. I'd recommend Rockway to any golfer.
Great Gem
We have played all the courses in the Niagara corridor this spring and Rockway Vineyard is right up there in course conditions. The only the bad aspect I can say about the course conditions were the bunkers; they were very heavy but it is a common theme among all the courses this time of year. Second of all, the balls do tend to get lost in the green side rough if you are deeply errand.
The lay out does allow scoring yet tests the short game and putting. The rough are thick and good lobbers of the ball will bode well. There are a variety of holes, that include dog legs, straight away, elevations changes, short and long holes that do test your course management.
Overall, we enjoyed the course. Playing in the vineyard scenery and at the foot of the escarpment was a memorable experience. We will be back at some point and more so when the grapes and fruits are in prime growth.
Fall golfing doesnt get much sweeter
Great round of golf on a late fall day. Fairly priced for this time of year. Course was in great shape and with few golfers on the course it was easy to squeeze 18 in a quick 3 1/2 hour round.
I had never been here before, but will return next year for a golf , wine and dine game.
Nice course
Course in good shape. Expensive without some sort of discount.
course needs some tender care
Tee Box grass was extremely long and needed some overseeding, Fairways where average, but they also had been recently cored. Would not have wanted to pay any more than the deal off golfnow.
Good course - riduculous pins
This is a nice course, but the pins were in ridiculously hard areas of the green, front, back, corners, top of hills & on the side of hills, you name it - the pins were there on EVERY hole. The fairways were also recently air-rated making them difficult to hit from.
Good deal
I paid only $16 for the round of of golf now and would have easily paid double for it. Quality conditions as well as very friendly staff and members I was paired up with.
A nice trek through the vineyards.
We played in mid Sept.. The course was in good shape and was reasonably challenging. Your surrounded by vineyards with water and bunkers throughout the course so it's very scenic.
You do have to get used to the noise the use to scare the birds from the grapes near harvest season.
good times
When I arrive course was lookin plane .
but, as I played course had lots challenged.
Lots bunkers and water, green was very challenge
and fast.
I really enjoyed.
thanks to golf now.
very challenging
Unfortunately there was a tournament that started at 10 in the morning. They were still playing 5.5 hours later. Caused a great shortage of carts. Staff made it up to us by giving us a free game with cart certificate good for one year. We had to cut our game short as it was dark before we could finish. The course was well manicured. The greens were a little rough caused by the tournament folks. People at the course were wonderful. When we Redbook we sure be sure to call and ask if there are any events booked for that day.
Great value
We played late Sunday after a tournament. The greens had been hammered by the visitors and I personally repaired dozens of pitch marks.
That said we were paired up with a nice couple from Nirthern Ontario on holiday and didn't quite have enough light for the last 3 holes.
Great evenings golf.
First timer
Generally the course was in good condition. Some cosmetic work needed. Surprising to see weeds growing in front of pro shop. More on- site washrooms are needed.
We followed a tournament. It took us three hous for the front nine. I total the round took 5 1/2 hours. There was no Marshall, other than the started visible!
Friendly staff , ok conditions , bit slow pace
I like Rockway , it's a pretty course located in a winery . The staff is friendly and helpful , I just wish the pace of play was a bit faster ...
Starter needs an attitude adjustment
Greens were in very good condition.
Bunkers could use some sand.
Overall manicure would benefit from some TLC.
Beverage cart and halfway house service was fantastic!
Starter needs an ATTITUDE adjustment!
I played the course with my friend and our 14 year old sons.
We were enjoying ourselves on the front nine even though we had to wait on every tee block for the group in front of us, we were in no rush.
Once we finished the first nine we stopped at the halfway house to grab a bite to eat and then carry on our round...this is when our day got ruined.
The starter began harassing us telling us that we had to get moving, we were playing too slow and that we were holding up everybody.
We explained to him that we had been waiting on every tee block on the front nine and that the reason there was a gap in front of us was because the people in front of us had finished their round after the front nine. He was not interested in hearing us out and basically told us to get our butts moving.
We ended up catching up with the twosome that was in front us by the time we reached the 18th hole.
I would suggest that the course hire some more informed starters before this guy chases all their business away.
