Royal Stouffville Golf Course

Watch out for the mosquitos, worst I've experienced. Alot of still water, maybe some fountains and spraying would help.

Challenging course with great greens. Greens are well kept and roll nicely.

Tee boxes are hit or miss. Alot of uneven tee boxes.

Bunkers have poor drainage. Water was sitting in them from the rain the night before. The sand in the bunkers did not seem all that good, maybe because they were still wet from the night before. Greens were very slow.

Lovely course. But only dislike the mosquitoes.

The course is in very good condition with the fairways and greens very well maintained. It had been raining in the morning so power cart was not allowed to use, only walking. But actually the course was pretty dry in the afternoon. One surprising thing is that staff requested to keep an identity card with photo, like driver’s license or health card, from players as security for using the pull cart. Never heard of that in other golf courses. Not sure whether it is legal for them to keep customer’s identity card as security for things like a pull cart. May be they can charge a security deposit from credit card instead that can be waived or cancelled upon return of pull cart.

Hope 10 had the sprinklers on and would not shut off. There couldn’t play it. When call made to clubhouse they sounded stunned. Said superintendent was not in but yet maintenance crew had to have been there. Hate the fact that no accommodation was given for the inconvenience.

Also pace of play was so slow. Not sure what Marshall’s purpose is.

I’ve played here a few times as I enjoy the course layout but service wise it was a disappointment.
