short and sweat
Par 3 and 4 are short but surprisingly there are four par 5s that are 450 yds which can be played as par 4 in a championship course. One should know about the as the length, course rating and slope ratings are posted on GN and course website. The pace is slower but I managed to finish 18 in 4 hrs. Tee box are close to each other but tee, fairway and greens are in ok shape. Fairway are wide open, you can choose to drive the par 4 or practice your long/mid irons. No complain for around 17 bucks 18 holes walking rate if you book through GN.
Short course and perfect for kids/retirees
The course is short. It does however provide confidence to ones game. I was able to drive one to the green on a short 250 yard par 4
Comfortable course but very slow!
The weather was absolutely wonderful for October. The course played really, really slowly with most golfers walking and no marshal to be seen. We waited at every single hole, sometimes two deep. Course conditions were fine for the time of year but the price/course were not good value for the money compared to others offered at golf now.com
Not Bad Coarse but alot of ignorant players.
I know it's late in the season but green tee's were uneven and with patches. People a head of us were taking our balls and picking them up. Don't use your good balls here. People behind are teeing off while we're still putting in the par 3. Alot of ignorant people who don't know the rules or don't follow them. Hope there's Marshall that will dictate the pace and enforce the rules.
Very congested
Poor layout.
Some of the Tee blocks are way to close to adjacent Tee blocks causing dangerous situations with players hitting across fairways.
Carts were too old and smelt strongly of gasoline fumes. Cart paths to fairways poorly maintained (extreme bounce).
I would never come back to this Golf Course even at a discounted rate.
Don't waste your time
Don’t waste your time with this course because the pace of play is excruciating. The course is full of duffers. If you are long off the tee 7 of the par 4’s are reachable in one shot. What that means is you have to wait an eternity for the duffers to get off the green before you can even tee off. Also the Marshall's and starters will not help push the play along. So the poor players don’t know enough to let people play through, the management doesn’t care, and the course layout makes this course a nightmare for decent players. If you are a consistent player stay away.
Very open and forgiving
The course was a little crowded on this day. Apparently there was a tournament on the other course, on-site. We had to wait at the tee quite a bit. Still, we were done in about 4 hours and 45 minutes. Overall, I think it is worth returning.
Good course, but poorly managed
The course played very slowly due to multiple twosomes being sent out back to back, with the slowest, and most inebriated, pairing out front. You could hear them from three holes away. No marshall came by to check the pace of play, and no beverage cart was seen at all. The course was in good condition, but it was a pretty frustrating round.
A bit too many people
In general, Google course to practice. Some of the players were very slow.
Good variety
Long and short holes with some good obstacles..all skill levels
GTA friendly
It's nice to find a quality course at a reasonable price close to downtown. Greens are in great shape, tall grass has been trimmed back recently so all in all a great place to play a round.
Dangerous
This is the worst laid out course I have ever played. Almost all the holes are dangerously close to the next tee box or in some cases next to 5 tee boxes. its a good course to learn on but then dangerous for the surrounding players. I mainly play in durham region and had to drive 25 mins to get there, not worth it. I even got it as a hot deal on a saturday and used a 25% off coupon and still not worth it. If you live east of this course and want and shorter course play Whispering Ridge at Lakeridge Links its way better and close to the same price.
it was alright
This course was quite unique. there were tee boxes right behind a 105 yd hole which made me a little nervous, especially when i was treeing off on the next hole and watched a few hackers come nowhere near there grew. also had a few par 5s all of which were about 450 yes. All in all for the price it was fun, the greens were challenging and the course did allow you to be very aggressive. (driving the green on a par 4 with a hybrid was a head scratcher)
if you get a deal it worth it!
Great course for beginners, worthy challenge for intermediate golfers
Big, wide fairways with greens on the smaller side. Most protected by bunkers. Greens on the par 3's had lots of unfixed ball marks. Other than that the course was in great shape.
The challenge course !!
I really dig this course....its great for the average or novice golfer....its the type of course that if you just use your head and manage your game, your score will really impress you....I really appreciate the extra discounts from golf now and will be playing this course a lot!!! Thanks to the Staff at Rolling Hills. The classic course is also a really great course for novices or beginners ...recently did a round in less 3 hrs.
Do not play this course
Went for the first time. Was very disappointed with this course. All holes are jammed way too tightly together. Very very short course. Not worth the money one bit. Would never go back.
clean and green
Course was well maintained. Fairways and greens were clean and lush. Great course for a midrange golfer. Quick play for a 70 par.
Not a bad day!
Course conditions were great except for the bunkers. The bunkers really need better drainage because they are basically unplayable. A couple swampy spots stole 2 amazing drives I had but other than that it was a solid course with a good pace of play.
Rude staff, course nothing special
Our tee time was at 11am. We arrived at the pro shop at 11:01. Every staff member made us aware that we were late and they were not happy about it. Things happen, people are late sometimes. Not a way to treat paying customers. The course was wayyy over booked. It took over 5 hours to play 18 holes due to congestion on the course. The course itself is very compact and all the holes seem squeezed together.
I could deal with everything expect for the staff, they will be the only reason I will never golf at this course again and the reason I tell everyone I know not to as well.
