Brenham Country Club
About
Originally a 9-hole course, an additional nine holes were added in 1993, making this a very challenging 18-hole layout with a few monster holes from the back tees (6,721 yards). The course features wide, tree-lined fairways and small greens, as well as water that comes into play on almost half of the holes.
One local told us that short-iron play was important; however, that’s hard to imagine considering the length of some of the holes. Three holes stand out from the tips: Two par 5s play 600 yards or better (No. 11 is 643 yards), and No. 3, a 247-yard par 3. The rest of the layout is of a more reasonable length, particularly from the middle tees, where there are a few short par 5s under 500 yards as well as par 4s around the 300-yard range.
Getting there : From Houston, take Hwy. 290 west and turn right on FM 577. Turn right on Hwy. 105. The course is located 2.5 miles away on the left-hand side of the road.

This course surprised me
Very fun course to play! Some challenging holes but not many places to lose your balls.
Brenham CC - Loved this track
Played this on a Sunday morning and I was the pace car on the track. This this is a country setting and is laid back as can be but the course is quite interesting. You have to play close attention to the routing (keep the map on the back of your score card handy) but some good holes on this course. Watch #8 your green is to the left I made the mistake and played to #1 green. The greens are in great shape but small. A lot of flat chipping or putting from off the green if you miss them. Fairways are firm so there is a good bit of roll right now. Carts are good and staff was very friendly. I 'll be back, as I really enjoyed the course.
Wow! We are so happy you enjoyed your round, Vette! We look forward to seeing you again soon @brenhamcountryclub.

We really liked this course and would recommend/play again. The layout really was confusing..it was difficult at times to figure out where next hole was or which fairway/green you should be hitting to. Good condition and good course for the golf now deal. Lots of leaves on greens and tee boxes which got a little annoying.
Bad Timing
Bad timing on my part. The greens had just been plugged and sanded. Other than that, no complaints. The course is challenging but fair. But if you can’t drive the ball accurately, you’re in for a very long day.
Old style country club
This course is typical of old style CC. The only issue was they had changed the starting hole... Following the layout was strange at times...
Great Time in the Country
The course was in good shape. Greens were nice and rolled true. There are hazards and some blind shots that make it a good idea drive up to see what lies ahead. Play speed was good. We were able to tee off early. There were some singles who played through, but overall a nice day and time on the course.
Expected better golf course
Greens too small with grass and another kind of green plant mixed in. Lay out on a few par 5's requires
a big hit in very narrow opening to carry hazard. I
got a good rate so the overall course condition
didn't sting as much. I was surprised it was on
par with Legendary Oaks which Is a better value.
I did like the club house and pool area set up.
Brenham CC
Course is in good shape considering the time of year. The greens are pretty firm so don't hit your puts too long or you will 3 put a lot here it's like putting on concrete this time of year. During the summer and spring the greens were really nice though. Several tight doglegs so rethink driver off all the tee boxes unless you are accurate. The par 5's are wide open so let her rip! I always enjoy playing this course if it's not busy.
Nice layout , Good condition , Members rule !!!
Course seemed to be in good condition except the bunkers.
I don't know if it was due to recent rains or just poor maintenance.
This course is a "Country Club" and is very busy with play from
the "Members".
These guys start when they want and on whatever hole is open.
We only finished nine holes !!! Don't waste your time or money!
There's more to Brenham than Blue Bell Ice Cream.
This is a beautiful course and was in very good condition...well worth the drive from Houston. A little course knowledge would help with scoring so I look forward to coming back.
Course is well maintained
This was a very enjoyable course to play. It's in good shape, not particularly long, with greens that roll well. There are a few sharp doglegs, not many traps, and water hazards protecting several greens. One negative is that the course is a little difficult to navigate due to the layout.
Great little course in the country.
Brenham CC is quite a find, fairways in excellent condition, greens were in good shape as well, although a bit slow. Tricky navigating from hole to hole but you will find it. Great vistas from tee boxes of surrounding rolling hills...a good bargain for golfers.
This course was fun to play
This is an old style golf course, with lots of trees and very small greens compared to the more modern courses. However, the greens have a lot of grain in them, so they need your attention on every putt. It is not a long course, but you really need to hit it in the fairway. There are several dog legs and if you hit it to long, you will go right through the fairway and into the trees or the rough. It is more of a position course than a bomber course and being 66 year old, I really like that. Fun couse!
Wonderful Course, excelllent Staff, beautiful, clean facilities.
Nestled away with the Blue Bell Ice Creamery, Blue Bonnets in the foothills of Texas is this amazing course. I put Moderate, but it is a slight challenge from the tips. One of my favorite all time. I have played the likes of River Oaks, Brae burn, Royal Oaks, Blackhorse and others, Brenham stands in there with all of them, and for the price I paid, you can't beat it.
