Pecan Lakes Golf Course
About
Jay Riviere added another of his many southeast Texas course designs to his resume with Pecan Lakes Golf Club. Par 72 and tipping out at 6,922 yards, this water-infested track plays around a 20-acre lake and waterway system. Water is the primary difficulty, coming into play on 17 of 18 holes, but the golf course is mostly hacker friendly with most par 4s ranging from 300 to 400 yards. The round starts off into the wind and rolls through groves of pecans, oaks, and elms. No. 8 is the best hole -- a tough par 4 that plays between trees on the right and water along the left side. The long approach on 8 must carry a bunker, and is particularly difficult because of the small green. Like the front, Pecan Lakes Golf Club's back nine opens up playing into the wind, with no. 10 playing 400 yards beside water. No. 11 goes 560 yards with a tricky approach that must carry a greenside water hazard. No. 18 is the longest par 4 (452 yards) and doglegs left around two bunkers, with water along the right.

Reviews
Airport Neighborhood!
Course in usual great shape and one of my favorite courses in & around Aggieland. Not as tough to play as A&M courses but always enjoy.
Just be quick to get back to course if you forget ANY piece of gear: Wayne doesn't feel responsible to hold on to customers' gesr!
Pecan Lakes
Summer in Texas usually browns everything. The greens were great, the fairways were green. It was very nice, hot, low pressure golf
So Hot
So we played, and it was super hot. Like 100+ and any breeze felt like a gd hair dryer. But, short of putting a dome over the course and cranking the AC , not much can be done about that.
Despite the heat, course was relatively green and in good shape. We hot a Hot Deal, so maybe golfnow thinks they're punny. Seriously though, if you want to pull golfers from BCS, you need to offer this rate more often. I'll drive a bit to play this course for up to $25, but not for more.
Took my Aggie son out and was very happy with the course. It was a great time and a good value. Would definitely play it again.
Great course for the value
This isn't going to be a PGA tour course but is a great value with a friendly staff. I would recommend anyone to play here.
First Time at Pecan Lakes
Got up yesterday and noticed clear skies instead of rain clouds so decided to chance a round of golf, looked up some courses on Golf Now and picked hot deal on Pecan Lakes. Easy drive from Magnolia to Navasota to golf course parked and went to check in , greeted by a pleasant starter who offered an early tee off since the course was open on first tee. The golf course is in great shape greens and fairways well manicured , the course is open with some trees lining the fairways, there are some thick grassy areas lining some areas along fairways to catch way word shots that go along with the many lakes on the course, greens are smooth and the ball runs true on putts but they are a little bit on the slower side of speed but still a challenge. The overall play experience was great and will play Pecan Lakes again in the near future next time I will bring a friend.
Excellent Greens
The greens at this course are in excellent shape. The best around public course greens in this area for sure. The staff is just so friendly and it's well worth the drive. Very Highly recommended from us.
Nice Course
Really enjoyed this course. Nice facility. Front nine was under repair around the greens, but still playable. Back nine was fine. Will definitely play again.
Thank you for the 4 stars! We hope to have you back soon.
Nice round
Played solo and finished in 3 hours. Greens are in above average condition after being seeded a few weeks back.

Slow greens
Overall I enjoyed the course. Greens were agonizing slow. Sand was in good shape.

My experience is that if you leave a head cover in th golf cart you'd better get back to th course fast !
Wayne isn't responsible for items left on th golf course's carts; even if employees take th items in to their office!
Windy day at Pecan Lakes
Fun course. Wind seems to blow at you every time we play it. Greens were not in best condition, just sanded, but were OK. Staff is always super and very friendly. We will be back
Fun Layout, Quick Play
Pecan lakes is a very fun track. It is a little out there, so not a full tee sheet and I’ve been able to play 18 in under 2 and half hours. Some condition issues around the fringe and some fairways, but the greens run smooth. Would highly recommend over the A&M campus course for layout, pace of play, and value.
The course was very enjoyable and fun to play.
The course and staff were very enjoyable. The greens were in good shape and rolled and putted true. The bunkers were reachable and in play on several holes and they were in good shape and "stress-free" to get out of. The fairways were mowed and you always had a good lye, making your second shot and/or approach shot doable. I truly enjoyed my round of golf in the country and the Pro Shop staff was friendly, helpful and made you feel very welcome.
Wintertime Golf
Played the course in a stiff north wind but the fairways were dry while other courses in the area were cart path only. Greens were over-seeded and putted well. Pace was great for a Sunday am.
I will go back. Great value with Golf now hot deal.
