Fun, but missing my buddy
Great, but bought 3 rounds, my one buddy could not make it (death in the family). No refunds on HOT deals! Sometimes life intervenes!
Very fun course. Needs signage
This is a fun course to play. Greens conditions were spotty but playable. Some sand traps were hard pack but not all. Good value for my dollar. Our group had a good time and I will definitely come back to play. The course layout flow from hole to hole is not always obvious so a few signs here and there would be helpful. Overall a very fun course.
misty morning amusement
It was a long drive from The Beach to this course and the mist hung around, but the people at the course were friendly, the price was right, and golf is golf. It's fun to go to a different course; the trip to the tee-off of the second nine is about a 8 minute ride; i thought i was lost. It's worth a trip around if you get a good deal and you have the time.
Don't be fooled by the low price
My wife and I played this gem of a course today. She played the whites and I played the blues. The greens were all in reasonable shape for nearing the end of the year. The tee areas looked like Scottish Highlands' tees. The fairways were workable and I was able to take some fine divots.
The staff were very accommodating and friendly.
I walked the course while my wife drove the cart.
The first tee on the North course is 900 metres from the pro shop, so be prepared to hike.
The course is not difficult but one or two holes with elevation changes could add to your score. I shot a 79 with two double bogeys and if I had paid attention to club selection could have had a 76.
I highly recommend it and will play it again before the end of the year.
For the money can’t go wrong!
Solid round of golf not overly difficult good for beginners and average golfers. Must admit front 9 maintenance is a lot better than the back 9 given it is a kilometre away and across the street from the clubhouse making walking the course a bit of a hike. All in all will play again
Downhill slide
I've played here for over 15 years and never disappointed. I was not here last year but very disappointed this year. A cow pasture is too good of a description. Every green was a pitted disaster and the fairways a weedy mess. I guess they are letting the course go and then sell it for a housing development?
Mediocre greens
Lots of brown spots everywhere, even with the rain we’ve had. 50% of greens looked like this picture. I’d like a refund. The greens were like a pinball machine.
NEW TERM.... I got "foxbridged"
So to start, for the price it's decent, the course layout is ok, staff is nice, etc etc......but as the title says this course should have it's own catchphrase "I got Foxbridged"....what I'm referring to with this phrase is the course conditions....you'll hit a perfect drive middle fairway, go for a second shot and the fairway just eats your club like a sand trap, then next hole, same 1st shot but the 2nd is like the fairway is concrete. Then you get on the green, about to putt for birdie after multiple extra shots on the last hole from the "anti-divot" swallow your club fairway/rough, or "club bending wrist breaking military grade ensure you thin rockhard " fairway. you line up that sweet bird , perfect weight, and as your ball bounces along the green up to 1 foot in the air from the spotty greens and doesn't break the way you read it,( since foxbridge greens don't break at all,) miraculously it's still heading center cup, you begin to put your hand in a fist and cock back your arm about to tiger pump after your godlike against all odds putt is heading to it's home in all its glory......and.....3 inches before dropping in like an OG Anunoby 3pt shot with 0.5 secs left to beat the buzzer.....your ball decides to take an almost 90° turn away from the cup like an alcoholic who almost relapsed and fought of their demons, as begins to roll away like a cheese wheel down a hill in Scotland.......baffled as you now line up your 6ft par putt, you notice that the grass around the cup is slanted up like a wide volcano (probably because the sand filled grass raised as they took out the section to place the cup).....so now that you've boogied your birdie attempt, you return to your cart, contemplating life as you pull out the pencil, and with a sore wrist (see above as to why it's sore) you messily write 5..........this will occur again and again......and thus the phrase "you got foxbridged!"
but if you manage to make it thru 18 without a self inflicted tee to the jugular, you will reflect and say to yourself, "well least it wasn't that expensive and a bad day golfing is better then good day at work".
For the price it's decent, but the inconsistant surfaces will make you want join the space race versus Elon Musk, except instead of reusable rockets, you'll be launching irons to the heaven's........or more likely the woods.
Second Time at Foxbridge
There were brown grassless patches on some greens and fairways but, in general, it was in good shape. I appreciate that i got an 8:40 am tee-off time for 18 holes booking this on GolfNow just a few days earlier. One of Foxbridge's problems is that no one EVER answers the phone if you call. The first time I went, one of my out of town buddies needed to rent clubs. The GolfNow website indicated clubs were available and I left a vm for Foxbridge. I also indicated this in the Notes section when I booked online. When we arrived, of course, no rentals were available during COVID (serious eye rolling). Today, they charged my son and me for two electric carts even though we shared one. Hmmm...maybe my rating is a bit too high....
The course has a good lay out for each 9 holes
The course has several burnt out spots ,but playable. The course is 2 x 9 holes And approx 1 km long walk between them. Hot deal and a cart was around $55 , courses get you on cart rentals every where $20 and up to $35 per person.
I enjoyed the lay out and is a good work out for the wedges.
Well weathered...
The course layout is okay, but the conditions are very bad. For a new player like me, it’s not a big deal. However for an experienced player I would not recommend. The fairway was dry and a lot of the grass was yellow so everything rolled. The greens were half yellow with some even having tiny ants hills on it. You can only half blame the dry weather for the conditions.
The course did take 4 hours to play for a twosome because there were 2 groups of 4some with nobody really marshalling.
Be aware there is about a 1 km distance between the front and back nine.
