The Vista Links Golf Club

Course had a wow factor layout with too many signature holes to name. Course conditions were always problem.

Sad that this course closed as was one of my favorite in Virginia.

Started playing this course this year. Very nice layout and getting in better shape each week we play. If you have never played here before you need to try it out.

I went to college in nearby Lexington, and our team practiced a lot at Vista Links. The Rick Jacobson layout is actually excellent, though these days, it's hard to tell, given the weedy fairways, horrendous tee boxes and decent but shrinking greens.

At its best, the course was a thrill ride, with firm fairways and one of the best sets of par fives anywhere. Now, years of suspect management and waning demand for golf have left it on life support. I hope it returns to its heyday, but that might be wishful thinking. Still, if you're in the area and don't mind the scruffy conditions, you'll enjoy Vista Links.

This course is in BAD shape, as the city has no money for upkeep. This was a BEAUTIFUL track when it opened up. It is quite a shame how bad it is now.

The greens were EXCELLENT. Grass way too long on tee boxes. Fairways are uneven and knobby creating horrible lies.
