Lots of San Antonio golfers take the short drive to Devine, Texas to play this golf course. Built in 1967, public Devine Golf Course draws players from miles around for its challenging greens and beautiful oak-filled vistas. The golf course is covered with centuries-old majestic oaks that frame lush fairways and multi-tiered greens. Water comes into play on six holes at Devine Golf Course.

Devine Country club
Of course layout is nice it's very easy and friendly. Not too rough for beginners but good enough for advanced players. It was winter time so the course was dormant. However I will return to play once again.
A little rough
The course was dry, probably the time of year. Wanted to get out and play since the weather was nice, get some practice in. Mission accomplished. Like the course, no issues with pace of play, even though a twosome jumped in front of us on the turn..
Decent but Challenging with abundance of trees
Decent course very challenging greens with crazy pin placements right in the middle of significant slopes. Also many trees where if you miss fairway at all even just off fairway you have trees in your way. I am a 16 handicap and have not shot better than 92 on this course in 5 attempts.
Great course
My wife and I have played this course six times in the last month and a half and every time we enjoy ourselves. Some greens need a little help, the layout is very golf friendly with slight challenges.
Nice course but needs some updating
tee boxes and fairways were good most greens were good a few had some bare spots. The only issue is each tee had a layout diagram sign but about 3 of them were so worn you could not see them. Number ten you have no idea where the fairway or hole is due to obstructed tee box view and no hole diagram on card or tee box.
Great staff, great layout. Would give it 5 stars if a couple of greens were better.

Overall the course was in great condition some greens had a little crab grass fungi on them. Staff was amazing and kitchen was great! Great course for the price.
Play before it’s too late!
Love this course, just challenging enough to be fun but at the same time very affordable. However, I was told that it may close soon as the current management does not want to continue. It’s a City course, hopefully if it does close it’s only for a short time. Also, hope the next team keeps the course maintenance to the level it has been (and pricing also!)
Good Course
I liked the course, the greens ran fast but were in great condition. Stay in the fairway and you will be happy.
Hidden Gem
Very nice course with some challenging holes that require planning and strategy. Don’t let the location of the course fool you. It’s a great course and a real value based on the price of a round.
Thief
I attempted to play this course however it wasn’t open despite taking my money for the reservation. Upon arrival, the course was closed, staff wasn’t present and their website gave no indication that they would be closed. Don’t bother with Devine Golf Club. Worst experience EVER!!!

First time here. Wasnt too crowded. Finished under 4 hrs. Well kept greens. Food truck. Ill come back.
Great course
Great price. Went over the xmas holidays since all the san antonio courses were crowded. This one was way less crowded so we finished in under 4 hours. Good course. The staff was friendly. Had a food truck. Id def go again

A nicely appointed course that looks to be under improvement. Had a great round. Very nice staff. Portapotties for now but very clean. I’m going back

Every review from people that actually played the course since the new management team took over in 2021 is 4 and 5 stars. Your 1 star review when you didn’t even play the course is BS. I imagine readers will look past your rating.
Lol what I bashed was giving a 1 star rating for something you didn’t experience. If your claim is right and it was a weekend there must have been something extenuating to make that happen. So you were “inconvenienced” cry me a river! If you did indeed pay, call your CC company and they will refund you immediately. Leaving the review you left doesn’t help anyone in the golfing community. And if you think it “sends a message” to the management team, that’s laughable. I bet you are the type of person that leaves reviews for McD’s lol.
u474169383 My tee time was on a weekend and even if them being “closed” on specific days/day, it doesn’t change the fact the establishment was operating poorly.
Secondly, when I pay for goods/services and the establishment fail to provide such, be grateful I gave 1 star.

I take it you bought your tee time from a third party so it really would be their fault, wouldn’t it? Don’t see how you can rate a course 1 star when you didn’t even play. The course has one front office worker, so it’s not outside the realm of possibilities that they may not be as responsive as others. Last, they are closed on Monday to give their one front office employee a day off! You should give this place a chance and then leave an honest review!
