The Golf Club of Texas
The best testament one can give The Golf Club of Texas (formerly known as The Golf Club of Texas at Briggs Ranch) is that it hosts some big local tournaments. The large greens and tee boxes are some of the very best San Antonio has to offer. This is truly a high end facility. If you have not been out to enjoy this course you really need to. The place is all greened up and with the unique landscaping it's just a real pretty experience with great golf. The golf carts are outfitted with GPS which gives accurate distance to the pin and shows the contours of the greens. This track combines Links Style golf with Hill Country golf, giving players a taste of both types of golf. The course is among the best that San Antonio has to offer. The senior staff is very experienced and the service is all that you would expect at a high-value public course. The new clubhouse is beautiful and features a full service restaurant. After playing a round, you will really enjoy just sitting on the porch and taking in the view.

Course was beautiful, starter was rude.
Starter was super abrasive to the group in front of us and rude, also was upset my partner wasn’t 15 minutes early so we can start early. We ended up starting right on time and paired up with another 2some and had a great time. Solid course, and club house.
A lot o different lay outs on the holes. Overall condition was very good. The roughs are tuff.
We got behind 2, two-some that held up our 4 some and the foursome behind us. We finally skipped hole 9 and went around them. Marshall needed.
What's going on with the fairways and traps?!
I stopped playing this course a while ago due to the apparent lack of care and maintenance on the course but decided to give it a try again with a cheaper rate on golfnow.com.
First, most of the greens were in fine condition with putts rolling true.
Second, for some strange reason they have decided not to mow the fairways on several holes creating a primary rough right in the middle of the hole! Ridiculous decision!
Finally, the traps have NEVER been in good shape there and very few people rake them. But now many of the traps are in worse shape with heavy grass over growth or lack of actual sand. It sure appears they don't care if you land in the traps. VERY DISAPPOINTING!
We have played here several times. They continue to make course improvements. We really enjoy the layout and pace of play.
Good value.for the price
First time playing this course. Overall good experience I’d return and recommend.
Great place to golf!
This course is fun but also can be challenging. Loved the greens!
This is the nicest course we have played all summer. It is in amazing shape and was lots of fun.
Golf Club of Texas
very impressed overall. Course played nicely. Room off most tees for a little error.
Could use a marshall checking on slow play.
Great conditions, zoysia grass easy to play from.
Will be coming back. Great value
Fun and Well Paced
Course is in great shape and staff is very courteous.
Top tier golf course in Texas! Exceeds standards in many aspects! Has a great Texas feel and the sport of golf grows on one, no matter the experience. The course has a beautiful scenery and challenging, yet with minimal pressure. Highly recommend!
A GREAT VALUE
Decent layout, greens were great, fairways are generous but a little rough around the edges. I'll play again.
A Great Round
My son and I had a very enjoyable afternoon at Golf Clubs of Texas! It's a beautiful course!
