Played there numerous times...love the layout with a variety of holes but the course conditions are just not great..the greens are ok even though they are like concrete. The biggest issue are the little things...old cart path thrown in trees...lack oh help..indifferent pro shop personnel...in other words...mainly management issues. The course isn't worth the fees given those factors b ut worthy if you get a deal

Golf club of Texas always delivers on its promise of a challenging and strategic golf course. And the pace of play was excellent, with our threesome finishing in just under four hours.

The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful.

The practice area are more than adequate, with a full-size driving range, a large putting green and a chipping area.

If you're looking for a fun and challenging round with a touch Texas views, this is the course for you. I would definitely play here again, but I'll be sure to practices beforehand. 😁

We’ve played here a couple times and it’s been okay. Today was by far the worst. Let’s start off by saying that we had a tee time for 11:20 and didn’t start till 11:50 because the starter couldn’t seem to get the guys in front of to drive to their tee box as they were messing around with the cart girl and taking their sweet time. it took us 3.5 hrs to finish the front 9 because the same guys in front us were so drunk and taking their sweet time once again but no Marshall even bothered to speed up pace of play even after they had witnessed it and said yeah it’s a slow day. The guys finally let us play through but are again hanging with the same cart girl being very loud and talking on our backswings. As a cart girl I would assume she was taught golf etiquette but that did not seem to be the case.

Have played GOT before....the layout of the course is very good butthe conditions are fair at the best...too many bare spots in the fairways...lots of punch shots off dirt or very little grass. Understand its the dormant time if year but this seems to be a persistent issue. I will note the greens rolled out better than last time played even though they are not overly quick. The course can a be challenge but it also can be had with some knowledge and well placed shots. With the growth in that part of SA it could be a gold mine but the conditions need to improve....the also have a nice pratice area and the girls working the bar area are excellent

Pretty family oriented place, we ended up watching a football game at the bar. Bartender Briana was awesome!! I think I’ll recommend this place to my friends.

The course is in really bad shape, there is no other way to say it. I understand there has been a drought in the area, but the conditions here are beyond just being dry. On their website, they brag about having Zoysia grass from tee to green. The grass they have might be Zoysia, but there isn't much of it anywhere. Many tee boxes were completely dirt. The fairways had massive patches of dirt on almost every hole. The greens had grass, but were pretty bumpy.

The layout is actually pretty nice, but it is completely overshadowed by the conditions. We played a different course in the area the next day and it was completely green on every hole. The staff was very nice and they have a cool outdoor bar, but once again, those are overshadowed by the conditions. I'd stay away from this one for the foreseeable future.

The course layout is very nice, although the drought has taken a toll on conditions. The course is firm and lacks grass in several area. The greens rolled OK but were a little bumpy. Pace of play at least when I played was very good around 4 hours. The staff is good. Bottom line..its a nice layout with good facilities and a good staff with a course with lots of potential if the conditions were a little better...even for the winter and some help from the weather...will play again.

To start the course is absolutely beautiful. Fairways are well maintained and the scenery is great. The greens are hit or miss, some are really dry, some bumpy, and some are perfect. The cart path is brutal, holes and cracks everywhere so it’ll take its toll on your back. Pace of play is alright. If you don’t play fairly quick you’ll find folks on your tail (But maybe I’m just worse than everyone else who comes here). Some of the tee boxes are nice, some of them have rocks and little grass. Club house is really nice and the bar is nice to have right next to the range.

Fix the cart path and take better care of the greens and this could be a truly great course. Until then I’m not sure it’s worth the price they’re askin.

Great course for the money. I would not recommend playing this is the summer heat due to a lack of shade trees. It gets really hot in thr afternoon. Greens and fairways were great. Amazing value.

My buddy and I live playing rounds her, it’s near by and we’ll kept. Recently added a giant beer pavilion with tv’s and such, great place to hang out.

I really enjoyed playing GCoT. Layout was good, course was in good shape (a little dry but that’s expected playing after noon) staff was very good. It was my first time playing there but won’t be my last.

Pace of play is awful. Not a good value for the money...lately they have started to charge higher green fee than they deserve.

All in all, it was in good condition, can't give it a GREAT rating, some of the bunkers need some maintenance, especially some of the fairway ones.
