Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Golf Club

We carts were nice, except ours was a dud. It was rough going pushing it quite a few times to get it to go. Then didn’t really appreciate the lady in the pro shop arguing with me about it not working. The gentleman outside was very pleasant and agreed there was something wrong with the cart and pushed it to the barn.

The greens are in terrible shape and that was a bit disappointing….not sure what they are doing to correct the issue with the greens, but a discounted green fee should be implemented.

Played the course and the greens were beyond terrible. One green was completely sand/dirt. . No grass underneath the sand/dirt. No grass anywhere. Usually some green grass surrounded the green. Then little or no grass on the green.

The best greens were half grass and half sand/dirt.

Don't waste your money.

Nice course, however they still don’t provide water on the course for players. Sounds petty but this is Texas.

This is Texas and they don’t put out water for players.

60 bucks on a Thursday, Get out of town.

By far the worst greens and fairways I’ve played on in 10 years and I’m from West TX. If you like To putt or chip on concrete this place is for you.

Will not be returning.

The bad

Signs everywhere for no outside food or drinks. Fine, except there’s no drinking water on the course. Hit 91 degrees today. Pretty sure that’ should be a health violation. Absolutely ZERO food available even though they have what appears to be a nice clubhouse restaurant

Won’t be back. Not worth it

Temperature when we played was 85 on the first hole and 91 by the time we finished. No water jugs anywhere throughout the course. Big sign out front says no outside food or drink. Asked staff about it at the end of our round and the reason given was all the water jugs were brought in for the winter and haven’t been set back out yet…we have a bottle filler here in the hall. Like I really care to come back to the club house and fill up every few holes. Highly disappointed in lack of communication beforehand so I could have made sure to have plenty of Gatorade or water before we started.

It was cold, windy and a few sprinkles, but it was great playing 1 of the courses I cut my teeth on. Greens were slick, prob not long until verta-cut, but so much fun when they roll fast.

Always a fun course to play.

Nice course with a lot of elevation changes on the front 9.

Course is in god condition for winter and greens were fast for the most part. Having to wait at least 5 minutes between every shot was very annoying and takes you out of your rhythm.

I have played this course a number of times now and it is one of my favorite courses BUT Friday the greens were in terrible condition. They had new growth springing up on every green and were impossible to roll a straight ball on. For the price I have higher expectations. I am truly hoping this is a one off experience because this is a very nice course.

We enjoyed our round. As noted in some other reviews I read, the greens were inconsistent, but that was just 3-4 greens….the rest were fairly consistent. Hey, it’s winter so I wouldn’t let that stop me from returning.

Fairways, tee boxes, and greens are all in great condition ! Pace was good and our foursome played in under 4 hours.
