About
Freeport's muni is more of a links-style track noted for its solid par 5 holes. Water comes into play in the form of rivers and lakes, but the course isn't overloaded with water. The par 5s in question each play well over 500 yards, and they're all rated as the most difficult holes on the course. No. 9 is the longest at 557 yards, but the most difficult is No. 7 at 520 yards.
Getting there : Driving north on Hwy. 36, turn right at Slaughter Rd. You will see the course when Slaughter dead-ends.

Great Course
Course is in great condition. Greens were rolling true. Great course with lots of water and hazards. Bring mosquito spray!
Solid playable course
Freeport is just a solid decent playable course for Brazoria county. The greens are top notch always and to me is of course one of the most crucial parts of the game. The wildlife is of abundance me and my wife literally counted over 20 gators on property but didn’t bother pace of play or problems to us or anyone else on the course that I observed. Course is mostly always breezy/windy but to be expected for the gulf coast. Fairways play kinda tight so bring your A game when you come. They offer sandwiches and hotdogs along with other small snacks and also have an ice machine to fill cups and coolers. Carts are gas (no gps) but nice and quick moving. They’ve updated a lot of the ball washers around the course also which is nice. And also restrooms are in the clubhouse with an exception to a porta potty in the parking lot so empty your bladder when you can.

I will definitely play here again. Over an hour away but for the money this was a great find!
Tee boxes and greens are in great shape. At first sight I thought the greens were going to be really slow but I was wrong. They had decent pace and rolled true. Fairways were hard and a bit sparse in spots so I lost a few balls to water hazards when trying to lay up. Water somewhere on almost every hole but not overly punitive. Windy as expected.
Clubhouse leaves a little to be desired but I don’t go for the clubhouse. Not much in the way of food or snacks.
Will definitely play again.
Good course
Love this course. Fun layout and you can't beat the prices in the afternoon. I'd recommend this course to anyone!
Hard to Find a Better Golf Course
Sometimes on my days off work, I look into traveling the Houston area to try out courses other than Freeport, but then when I see reviewed photos of other places, I know that my money and my time is better spent here. The greens here are fabulous. Grass is well kept. Tee boxes are clean. Water is always freezing cold and in supply. My only suggestion is don't come hungry, they don't have a lot to choose from in the snack and sandwich department.

Fun to play , watch the water hazards for alligators!! Very friendly staff!
