Wilderness Golf Course

I have been looking forward to playing this course for some time. I drove nearly an hour, and paid $80 for a Monday tee time at 1030 am. The pace of play was very slow, since the front 9 was the only part of the course that was open. The back 9 was closed for maintenance. Not an enjoyable experience, to say the least.

Really fun set up. Bunkers are almost done being redone. Greens were not awful, but not great. I believe the course will get to great shape in a few months. Fun place to go and get away from the neighborhood courses.

Great course, great layout, great condition.

Would play again

Impressive very well maintained course for a public course.

Only two of the greens had few issues. Fairways were all mowed, cart paths were in perfect condition, looked as though the grass was edged along the cart paths. Although middle of the week there was a beverage cart. I play often and many courses in the Houston area. I have to give this course a A+ rating and a must play.

To begin, I love The Wilderness & feel it’s one of the best public courses in metro Houston. That said, our most recent trip there was disappointing. We arrived on Friday before a 2 day tournament thinking it would be pristine. It was anything but. Every fairway had bare dead spots & every green had weedy patches that would literally knock your ball off line. Traps ranged from overly fluffy to bare. Wilderness, please get your act together & get back to the premier track we love!

Great course and fun. But group in front would not allow to play through. Had to wait on most holes. No one was in front of them no marshal
