Freeport Municipal Golf Course
About
Freeport's muni is more of a links-style track noted for its solid par 5 holes. Water comes into play in the form of rivers and lakes, but the course isn't overloaded with water. The par 5s in question each play well over 500 yards, and they're all rated as the most difficult holes on the course. No. 9 is the longest at 557 yards, but the most difficult is No. 7 at 520 yards.
Getting there : Driving north on Hwy. 36, turn right at Slaughter Rd. You will see the course when Slaughter dead-ends.

Very nice course
This golf course has water to deal with on most holes. It is quite a challenging course but very enjoyable to play.
Well kept and challenging course
This course is challenging and most holes have water to take into consideration.
Alligators, Rattlers, and Birdies…..Oh My
Showed up for the 1230 tee-time, club house and staff were friendly and welcoming. You can tell this is consistent because it trickles onto the golf course through the patrons as well.
Greens rolled true and fairways are in shape, even the rough was in good shape when my golfing buddy was hitting from it. Lol, we will be back.
Always a good course
Greens are rolling pure and overall the course is in solid shape
Great corse for the money!
Been going here for years… $10 Tuesdays are now $18 for 18 holes with a cart! More than $20 using this stupid app I paid $99 for AND the Peacock code is expired they gave me. No recourse!
Best course south of houston , Gets a bit but other than that best course around
Best course south of houston , Gets a bit windy due to the open space but other than that best course around .
Worth Playing
Nice course. Clubhouse people were very helpful, they got us set up and playing on time. Course was full so it took 4 hrs to play 18. Holes are straight with the hazards, being water on almost every hole, sand, and. GATORS! (Being from Colorado, the gators actually added some character to the course.) Greens were in good shape and putted true, This is not a course to challenge your game, but a real nice course to enjoy golf!!
Winter golf
I am from Michigan and playing golf in early February in Texas so I am happy to able to play.
