Freeport Municipal Golf Course
About
Freeport's muni is more of a links-style track noted for its solid par 5 holes. Water comes into play in the form of rivers and lakes, but the course isn't overloaded with water. The par 5s in question each play well over 500 yards, and they're all rated as the most difficult holes on the course. No. 9 is the longest at 557 yards, but the most difficult is No. 7 at 520 yards.
Getting there : Driving north on Hwy. 36, turn right at Slaughter Rd. You will see the course when Slaughter dead-ends.

Best course south of houston
Tight fairways and lots of water , Will make you a better golfer . Best course south of houston , Course maintenance is worth every penny spent here
Well managed golf course
The course has nice layout and is quite challenging. Has water to consider on almost every hole.
Water, water everywhere.
Don't play here if you don't like water in play on just about every hole.
Fairways in good shape, greens in fine condition.. Holes pretty much straight, with variation only in length.
Decent enough
Started off with half a basket of muddy range balls, but fortunately got better from there. Only other downside was the standing water on parts of the course. Other than that tee boxes, fairways, and greens were pretty good for the money.
Pace of Play an issue
Pace of play is the only issue. There was a 5 some that slowed 4 groups down to a halt. The twosome behind them wasn’t offered to play through. Other than this, the greens are rolling pure and fairly fast.
Very nice course
This golf course has water to deal with on most holes. It is quite a challenging course but very enjoyable to play.
Well kept and challenging course
This course is challenging and most holes have water to take into consideration.
Alligators, Rattlers, and Birdies…..Oh My
Showed up for the 1230 tee-time, club house and staff were friendly and welcoming. You can tell this is consistent because it trickles onto the golf course through the patrons as well.
Greens rolled true and fairways are in shape, even the rough was in good shape when my golfing buddy was hitting from it. Lol, we will be back.
Always a good course
Greens are rolling pure and overall the course is in solid shape
Great corse for the money!
Been going here for years… $10 Tuesdays are now $18 for 18 holes with a cart! More than $20 using this stupid app I paid $99 for AND the Peacock code is expired they gave me. No recourse!
