Gainesville Municipal Golf Course

It was clear that the drought had had a major affect on the course. Lots of brown patches, cracks, and bumpy greens. Still it was a fun course to play and challenging, especially the par 3s, which I usually love.

Excellent course for all skill types, wide fairways, moderate speed greens, excellent layout and course condition

Greens and fairways were too thick. 5 greens in bad shape.

I got the hot deal of the day for $24 after all fees, 9:30 tee time. Course is really open, which is nice because my driver was all over the place, but I almost always had a chance to hit it again for a recovery shot. Course was in good shape, except for a few of the greens.

Gainesville Municipal is the perfect course for a light round with your buddies on the weekend. The course is generally in great shape, plays tough enough, but is still friendly to beginners. They have an excellent staff and are accommodating to the golfer's needs.

Back 9 was closed without any prior knowledge or update. Greens were decent considering the heat, course needed some maintenance.

I've played here several times over the past year and the course has improved. The greens are in better shape. Course is pretty much wide open and easy to play on. Pace of players are hit and miss, depends on the larger group pace. Overall nice course.

This is a great course to walk. Very long and challenging, but the hills are manageable. People there are friendly. The greens are usually decent and it's nice when the rough is cut so you have a chance to find the ball when you miss the fairway.

It is not a country clib so don't expect that and you will have a nice round.

Club house needs an overhaul. No drinks or anything offered. Only could play the back 9. Front 9 was being sprayed. Course itself has alot of potential. Wide fairways. Some good greens. Can't beat the price though.

Price was good for what you get. Greens were terrible, and the clubhouse should be demolished. It was like an old gas station converted to a clubhouse. No bathrooms while you are on the course, not even a porta John. The course layout was good and challenging. We had at one point a 20 minute wait on the tee box because of slower players. Course marshals were out but not doing anything. Overall for the money we had a good time and played the game we love. Will likely be back but I hope this review reaches the course so they don’t think they have a gem and nothing needs to change because it does need some help.
