South Ajax Golf Club - Lake Breeze

Great course for the price. Surprised of the condition of the condition of the couse so late in the season. Some great par 5s.

I've always been a fan of links golf. This is by far was the closest thing to it. High fescue, undulating, fairways and greens and high-lipped bunkers. This golf course is very tough and it does demand accuracy and creativity. I felt like I was in the UK playing at a very high end golf course.

Though I did not score well, I welcomed the difficulty and the challenge that this course brought out of me and the price point for nine holes is very reasonable. It felt like I was in Ireland or in England and playing for the Open Championship. Thank you to the staff and the grounds crew as they have put together a fantastic, yet extremely challenging golf course that felt like I was overseas. Now, all I need is a pint of Guinness to solidify a fantastic, yet challenging day of golf. You will see me again, possibly sooner than later.

Ps: Shout out to Karen and Don, my playing partners and members at South Ajax GC for making me feel comfortable and welcomed. I hope to play with you again somewhere down the line.

Although I gave it 4 stars all round I didn’t account for the sand traps that were under water and the bridges that were broken especially the big ones between hole 8 & 9. We were walking but someone riding in a cart could have easily dropped a wheel in.

The wet conditions helped my game as I usually lose balls due to rolling off the fairways at South Ajax.

Way to many potholes for power carts, very rough on anyone with ailments. Long walk between holes for those not carting.

I like this course a lot.

However, when we arrived at the course and went to pay, we were told that because we booked through GOLF NOW platform, we were not eligible for senior rates. Therefore, I will not be booking through GOLF NOW in future.

Unfortunately it rained the night before and we had to traverse large puddles along the cart paths. As a walker, dealing with the mud wasn't fun but the course is always a good time. Pace of play is great, finished less than 2 hours for 9 hole.

Greens are accurate and well maintained. Great 9 hole course close to the city.

I will go again for sure but will once they let carts on for me at 79 years old I would prefer to ride a cart!

My tee time was not found by the lady in the pro shop. It was very unorganized and told me to go tee off anyway. The starter didn’t know anything.

She was not friendly at all. Didn’t show me where to head to tee off or offer me a scorecard.

Green fee was overpriced at $65 considering overall conditions.

The course since new ownership has taken over has gone downhill. The fairways are full of weeds, bunkers are rock hard full of stones and sometimes full of water. The greens are not well looked after. I have played there 20 yrs and have watched it go downhill. Pace of play is slow, poor drainage, water everywhere in spring. Dry and rock hard in summer.
