Tempest Golf Club

Do yourself a favor and make a trip to Tempest. Fantastic layout. Great elevation changes. Condition was 4.4 out of 5. Friendly staff. I will be back soon.

I have played this course pretty often since the major reno back in 2018. They have done really great work with the new layout and course conditions. Several very interesting multi tier greens that roll true and pretty quick. Lots of challenging holes, but several tee options for all skill levels. Highly recommend.

Layout is great. Beautiful course. Lots of undulations. Pretty difficult but fun.

Great experience. This was the first time to visit Tempest but it will not be our last. Course was beautiful and the customer service was excellent.

Just love this course. They've made so many improvements. Certainly first-class all the way!

So many great front nine holes and the back nine is ALL spectacular! I completely felt like I was playing golf in the rocky mountains! Colorado!? Playing off the contours / slopes behind and around the greens was awesome ... totally different than the vast majority of golf courses.

This course is stunning. Resort like layout and atmosphere. Highly recommend to all.

The course overall was very good. There were some issues of fairways closed due to plugs not being picked up. The staff did explain that their machine broke down and apologized for the inconvenience. Playing under virus rules was not enjoyable. No flags were used, no rakes in bunkers and the cups were turned upside down. Cups upside down caused balls to bounce out of the hole, but I guess the idea is so you don’t have to reach all the way into the hole. I would say the course is over all beautifully laid out and it is a very picturesque golf course. It is a very challenging course if you play the tips with very undulating fairways and greens! I would like to play this course again under normal conditions, I think it would be an awesome experience!

Overall it is a Great setting ,great course, and great venue for golf.. for being winner the golf course was in phenomenal shape, greens were excellent, staff was is over and above. I will be back time and time again.

Traveled an hour and a half to see this course with my own eyes, heard from many people It was a great course. Got a great deal from GolfNow and man for the price this is hands down the best course in East Texas. I live on a golf course and I would travel to play here once a week. Challenging but yet fun at the same time, not very forgiving on bad shots. Beautiful course even in middle of winter, best greens I’ve seen hands down in East Texas area. Highly recommend to any skill golfer.

Just love playing here. The new owners have turned it into a first-class course and facility. Great place to play a challenging yet fun round of golf.

This was the first time playing Tempest Golf Course. I played the course from the Black tees. The layout/design of the course made it a very interesting round of golf. If you are looking for a course to challenge you, this is the one. The elevated, multilevel greens made getting the club selection right a challenge. The range finder GPS integrated with the cart was very helpful as you didn’t want to hit your shot to the green in the wrong place!

As the course meandered through the woods and along creeks, it really made club selection and position off the tee quite important. Because of its length (7200+ yards from the Black), I had to hit driver most of the time off the tee. With lateral hazards and OB lining many of the fairways, you don’t want to miss the fairways. That said, the course rewards good shots and near misses. I was able to putt off of the extra large aprons around the greens. Best of all is how true the greens were to putt. These smooth, fast greens would hold their line making 4-6 foot putts easier to make.

If you want a great challenge of your game, this is the place. But...be honest with yourself about your length and accuracy off the tee. If you can’t accurately hit it long off the tee, hit from the Blues; otherwise, you just might not make it to the fairway!

Tough layout but very fun. Have to be careful with driving lines, lot of blind shots and slopes into woods/creeks.

Excellent golf course, greens are impeccable, even for being in December. Definitely worth the drive.

This is the best course around the area. It is fairly new and is in really good shape. It has a fun layout and will challenge beginners to advanced players. I have played it several times now and really enjoy it. The greens are in great shape and the fairways are nice,. The staff was very nice and helpful every time I have been there. I will be playing it again!

Carts were in poor condition, pace was pretty slow. But the course is in great shape.
