Tempest Golf Club

Conditions were really good for November. Greens were consistent and true. Don’t get above the hole and on most holes, long is not good. OB creeps into several spots where you might expect to see red stakes instead. Note missing the Par 5 13th long, or left by just a yard or so will kick OB. It’s a fun course with the elevation changes that you’ll want another shot at. Only draw back was my cart’s GPS wasn’t working which made it difficult to figure out where to hit it. There’s a few blind tee shots where you need to play to the proper side of the fairway as slopes will kick the ball into a penalty area.

Saw the Beverage cart at least 3 times. Cart girl had personality which was fun.

Brett in the shop managed working me into a group on a Saturday morning as I was a single.

Pace of play was a little slow on the front, but we made up some time on the back. 4:45.

Will definitely look to go back and improve on my round. The large American Flag flying over the property is a nice touch.

Very interesting and challenging course. Greens are quick and undulating. Beautiful clubhouse

I love this course! It’s tough and you have to hit some good golf shots but it makes it fun!

Greens are currently heavy sanded and on the weekend it was almost a 5 hour round.

This is not the first time I have played here. This course will humble you no matter what tee box you play from. There are a lot of pros such as the course layout, price and difficulty. Cons: the fairways or edges of the greens are Never Dry! Always pick clean and place. They are improving the course such as the driving range opening at the end of the month and putting more drainage in but it still needs a lot more. Prepare to get your tail whipped and play a 5 hr round. They are notorious for booking a tournament and tee times over lapping.

Excellent layout with challenging greens that are in great condition.

Extremely beautiful course in every way. If you're an average golfer don't expect to shoot average golf. It is not all that amateur friendly so you better be ready for higher scores. The greens are very fast and the only strait putt you will have is when you're about a foot away. It's long even from the white tees (if you're a senior like me). The pins are put in very difficult positions and if you miss, get ready for possibly and even longer putt coming back. I do like the course very much and do recommend it if you want to see what it's like to play a course like the pros play. Give it a try, it is a great course.

Rating based on driving from DFW. Would be higher if without the road trip. Got the feeling that they've pulled back this year or are using the pandemic to make changes.

Lots of potential, but wasn't quite worth the road trip. If I lived in the area, then I'd love this place.

Awsome in many ways! Challenges galore! If you are good at playing on pasture courses, take some extra balls and an extra towel to wipe your tears as this is a real course with real pro layouts. Get well randy!!!

Very narrow and lots of undulation, bring a few extra balls. It is a fun track, good greens that rolled true and fast. It looks like they are trying their best to improve the course and facilities. The range was closed under construction so I some what understand the steep $75 rate for a weekend round.

Ps the carts are badass!

Been waiting to play this course for awhile. visiting in-laws at Holly Lake Ranch and got a great deal on golf now. Morning time for $35.75 booked with 3 others. got there hour early and driving range was closed but they have a great practice putting green. Ended up going out early by myself with few open holes ahead of me. Was fine since never played the course took little extra time trying to figure landing areas and approach yardages. Lot of elevation even when it doesn't look that much. Take extra club even good strikes came up short. Greens and bunkers were excellant and a few blind tee shots but great challenge. The white tees at 6000 yards played more like 6300 - 6400. Joined a twosome on the back but we all had to wait for a couple of fivesomes.
