Greens were questionable that day but excellent overall.
Tees were rock hard. Greens were not smooth and had damage. Fairways were average.
Greens bad that day
Greens had just been airated no notice before play and no compensation for poor conditions
Pace of play not good
We got a really good deal on this course, didn’t know before we got there that the greens had recently been aerated, but that happens sometimes. Fairways in fantastic condition, nice lay out course maintenance generally good. In terms of course condition, several of the sand traps are more like dirt traps. that’s not uncommon nowadays, but it is frustrating. But the place of play was ridiculous. Sometimes we would arrive on the Teebox and have two groups in front of us both stacked at the same Teebox. Round took 5h 5m. Too long. For the price, the value was there, but they have to do something with pace of play.
Inform Golfers
Good course. Friendly staff. But you should post a message saying greens are aerated, this can help customers make a better golfing decision. No change in price for certainly downgraded conditions with no warning.
Great experience
The starter, named Chuck, set the tone. His banter with us was fantastic. We saw him a few times over our 5 hours and it continued. The course was in great shape and the overall experience was great!
Father and Son
My son and I have been playing Wednesday afternoon and have totally enjoyed the couse conditions, clubhouse staff, and pace of.play.
For so much rain of recent the greens were not in great shape. Tree pruning needs to continue.
Awesome Monday Morning
Wow what a great way to spend a Monday. Course was almost completely empty which was a shame since it was in great condition. Greens were fast and well maintained. Staff in the pro shop was super friendly even stayed a few minutes to finish up our conversation. Westminster National was a little more unique and quirky holes but both WN and Oakmont are amazing value for the quality of course. Wanna play at your own pace and enjoy that leisurely round Monday AM at Oakmont is for you.
Drought plays a role
Course is generally in good shape. You could tel the drought had its effects. The ranger did a great job moving a very slow playing foursome in front of us. The were late to the start and hitting three balls a piece. Ranger asked them to keep pace. Very much appreciated
